I was walking to Yates this morning around 7:00, and saw about 25 players running sprints up on Kehoe (many in their E=R shirts), in what appeared to be captains' practice. I know that last year, our guys ran some 7-on-7 scrimmages with Howard, and I have to say I'm impressed with the drive for improvement that I'm seeing from the football program as a whole, and from players as individuals.

I cannot make any comparisons to previous years, but I can tell you that this year's recruits received a detailed workout schedule and are expected to E-mail the staff weekly outlining their progress. Does anyone know if that has been the routine prior to this year?

When I played, the staff issued a detailed schedule but we were independently responsible for following it. I think the emails are a great way to help keep people motivated/honest.

Showcase, was it standard to have this many guys staying around campus and working together during the summer? Just wondering if this size group is unusual, as I couldn't remember seeing a group this size in past years, at least until official summer workouts began.

I think the group staying on campus all summer long to work is a newer phenomenon. I don't recall it from my day.
I love their dedication, by the way. Very impressive.
