Any thoughts on the favorite for starting QB this year? Looks like Crawford got the most snaps in the spring game, but this transfer (Cangelosi) who was 1st team South Jersey, and redshirted a year in Chapel Hill, could be a factor, as could Turner or any of the guys that sat the bench last year... www.philly.com/mld/philly/sports/high_school/8834959.htm

I have to think Cangelosi is the frontrunner immediately. He's transferring from UNC after a redshirt year and had offers from VA Tech, BC, and Iowa as a senior. This is a huge pickup for the Hoyas. If he's as talented as he seems, he's an immediate impact.

Does he have to sit out a year since he transferred?

Not if he's going from 1A to 1AA.

Let's be fair--ACC teams usually redshirt the entire freshman class anyway.

Hoya Fan, any other insights on the Spring game? I was only able to catch the last 10 minutes, so I didn't get a real good look at the prospects for the upcoming season, and I don't remember anyone posting a full recap? I'd love to hear some of your thoughts, including an assessment of Allen's performance at the QB position.

can't wait for football games to start, not just practices,I was at the spring game and Allen did shine he scored the only two touchdowns and afew good passes. although he was blocked up the middle on a few throws, appeared to be no blocking, but he is quick. This should be interesting with another New Jersey transfer and all state honors on both. I agree with the comment on the d ends both are quick and strong. I think the TEAM looks better than last year except you don"t replace a "LUKE M " very easy. see you at the games. PS from what I have seen and heard the "new O coach " has had a positive influence on GT football. I'm not sure that last years coach was watching the same games I was and did not use his backups. That use of turner to run and Crawford to pass was something from Midget football. GO HOYAS ;D ;D
