I'm interested in making a donation to Gtown. I'm a former football player (just for one year) early in the Benson era. While I never made much of a mark on the football field, it was football and Coach Benson that got me in to Georgetown. I also know that it's important for the US News rankings to get as many alums to donate as possible to the university, even if the donations are small. My question: anyone know what options are available that will allow my donated funds to both count towards the US News rankings for alumni giving and directly support the football team?
I hope all are doing well.

If you go to giving.georgetown.edu, and follow the link to the online giving site, you will have a number of options for where your gift goes. Under "division", select "Hoyas Unlimited/Athletics," and then under "designation" select "Football/Gridiron club," and that's where your money will go. All money dontated to any program in the university counts toward annual giving, and the online form is the easiest way to get your donation to where you want it to go.

One other thing to consider...many employers have a matching program where they'll match dollar for dollar your donation to approved institutions. If your employer has such a program, fill out the paperwork and double the value of your contribution!!

You can even make your donation specific to an activity or particular purpose. I just joined/donated and slotted my money to help fund bus trips to away games. The people at hoyas unlimited and the Gridiron Club are terrific and will explain it all. If you are a player parent or a local alum, look for some efforts in late August to determine if there is interest in such trips which would originate in DC.
