Hey is this new stadium ever gonna be built. I was promised that I would be able to play in it by my senior year when i was being recruited. I graduated Georgetown 2 years ago and i don't remember no stinking new stadium. Seriously, when is this thing gonna be built if at all?

As far as I know, they've raised about half of the needed $25M, and the university is currently not beginning any new building project until it is currently funded.

Where will we play if it is under construction in the fall of 2005? Or, is that simply the date of completion?

I think the latest plan (put forward on this board, anyway) has the stadium -- read: seats, lights, and possible new field -- slated for completion by Fall 2005. The building part (with locker rooms, offices, etc.) would be constructed at a later time.

I was told by Dave Sears that the basics- seats, lights, and field -would be completed by the time of the first home game the Fall of 2005. This was within the context of making a contribution. I don't know why no one from the University has confirmed this officially on this talkboard but I have no reason to believe that not to be the case.

Caldad, you are obviously unfamiliar with our athletic department. They are not in the business of keeping anyone informed, even donors and parents of players. Well, football may be better, but the SID's combination of incompetence and "discretion" are legendary in basketball circles.
