The Zerbato brothers (cousins?) might be the next family to hit the Hilltop. If they are in fact twins, it looks like Justin spent a little more of his time bulking up!

if the numbers are accurate, it seems like the lineman we are recuriting are closer to Big east size than MAAC.

Looks like a lot of local talent. I wonder if the absence of recruits from Cali, TX, etc., indicates that the staff is getting better talent locally now, or if the staff feels the investment is not worth the return.
Or, it could just be a fluke.

We blew Lehigh & Colgate out of the water (according to Rivals)! I believe our good day draws near...

Where did you see Rivals info on us? I mean, I posted us at 124, but that's kind of a glitch, since we got that by getting a recruit they listed. Is there somewhere they evaluated 1-AA classes as a whole?

The list you linked is indeed the only Rivals list available, and I understand GU was 'ranked' only because GU happened to net a recruit 'evaluated' by the Rivals service. I was simply cracking wise about the fact that Lehigh & Colgate didn't happen to have any recruits listed with Rivals, so they didn't make the list at all. Sorry to mislead; I should have put a 'winkie' in there or something to indicate I was kidding. There; it is done. I'll put one here too, just for good measure. By the way: Thanks to Hoya71 for posting the unofficial list from today's print edition of the Post. Those of us beyond the regular distribution area of the Post appreciate your service.

I did some research at Rivals and found that two more from GU's class of 2008 list were also on Rivals. Andrew Hartigan (QB from Fairfax) was a one star, and Luke Warring (OL from Gonzaga) was a two star. It seems that not only these players, but the entire class may add nicely to what already is a very good young team. It would be great to have additional information on the rest of the class. I have posted the links below to the two recruits mentioned. rivals100.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=17619rivals100.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=19780

Wow. Waring was ranked higher in the DC Area than a DB recruit going to Syracuse. Looks like he's a legit D-IA recruit.

Hartigan's List: North Carolina, NC State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, East Carolina. I'm assuming the deciding factor in coming to Georgetown wasn't the facilities ;D. Plus, who knows where they got that list from, I doubt that all of those schools were really interested. However, if somehow they were I would be extremely excited.

I'm excited about the OL Luke Warring, he sounds like a major upgrade in talent and the kind of guy we need to start building our lines up. Hopefully we can continue to get this type of talent in the future.

Found a Rivals listing for one of the players Hoya71 listed from the Post: Emir Davis, DB/RB (5'9"/170), Hun School (Princeton, NJ) Looks like Davis excelled playing both ways, made the NJ All-Prep team as a junior, and, impressively, appears to be a hell of a student. georgetown.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=19744

Dan Osterhout (OL) was a first team All-State in Illinois for undefeated 6A state champion Carmel HS. Carmel finished in USA Today's top 15 nationally, and the O-line was the linchpin.
Actual ht/wt is more like 6'2", 275 lbs. Was recruited by several MAC (not MAAC) schools, and several Ivy and Patriot schools as well. Very good athlete (just not tall enough for the big 1A schools), excellent student (which is why he chose GU over the MAC route), and a fantastic kid. He'll be a heckuva player and a credit to GU.

When you say Carmel, you mean the Corsairs and not the Caravan, right?
Either way, thanks for the details on Osterhout. This class is sounding more and more like the class that will push the team into the realm of competitiveness in the Patriot.

Hopefully, these O-lineman will allow us to shift back the big D-linemen we brought in last year, some of whom got moved to to O. I am definitely looking forward to seeing where this class can take us... and I'm excited to hear about this Texan linebacker in the meantime!

That's correct--the Corsairs from Mundelein. Ended up 7th in USA Today national rankings at year's end. They ran a flexbone-style offense and rode their O-line to over 40 points in almost every game. Won by a blowout in the state championship (scored 50+ points) with a back up QB and scored 40+ earlier in the year against perennial IL power (and 5A state champ) Joliet Catholic.
They had another O-lineman go to Western Ill., but Osterhout graded out off the charts every time out.
