"The general public will never understand this, and it's hard for the general public to understand, that regardless of their record, I think that it's a pretty good team," Georgetown coach John Thompson III said. So, John, what you're saying is, wait, let me get this straight, was it hard for the general public to understand? I was thinking the same thing about those unis Nodak. And thanks for the info and the write-ups, guys that are out there. Sounded pretty disheartening on the radio and from the final score, but it was great to read your write-ups and see that things might not have been so bleak after all.

Clemson's PBP announcer last night reported that for some reason the LBSU coaches remained for their game with ISU (probably to scout the loser but I guess he wasn't thinking about that since this was the first game in the "Loser's"/consolation bracket and that the GU coaches left.

The entire GU team watched the first half of the Clemson game from the stands, all sitting together. The coaching staffs of both teams watched from a table at the baseline. I don't know after the half, because that's when i left, but certainly the GU coaches and players didn't leave before then.

It was late during halftime so he may have used bad wording to convey what he was trying to say... or he could have just been flat out wrong.

Here's something odd about my favorite Hoya (duh, Roy) I have confirmed my gut feeling with boxscore data that when Roy scores in double figures, we lose and when he scores in single figures we win (except Illinois) Temple (L) 12 pts Citadel (W) 7 Davdison (W) 0 PSU (W) 0 *Illinois (L) 4 SJSU (W) 6 ORU (L) 14 LBSU (W) 2 Now, we only have 8 games of data, but it looks like a trend. My guess is that when Roy scores 10+ it is because our other options aren't scoring (except JG) and we won't win when our production from the PG, SG, SF spots is down. So what am I saying? I guess I want Roy to score 9 points every night!

They filed out with a minute or so left in the half and watched from the wings until the buzzer, I guess that's what the commentator was trying to say. Maybe the coaches left at halftime as well, but since I left then, too, i don't know! Gonna need a strong effort upfront today to contend with Clemson's bulk

Great commentary SaxaCD and SirSaxa. I'm so glad to hear that they came out with some intensity... a nice contrast to the ORU game. And if the only problem is poor shooting than coming away from this game with a win doesn't sound that bad. Of course, 17 turnovers makes me think something sloppy was going on. Nevertheless, this gives me some hope for the Clemson game.
Now, do you think this team is streaky? It seems like that little run at the end of the first half was what set GU apart. I guess, a defensive high-TO game is changed a lot by a few quick threes. I'm thinking a Jeff Wallace 3-fest would be nice. Then again, don't want to be too reliant on 3s... better give Hibbert, BB and Green some jams too.
It'll be interesting to see if Hibbert starts again tonight.
Go Hoyas... I'd love a victory over an ACC team.

With Clemson's size, I'd be surprised if Roy doesn't start again, unless coach wants to see if we can "outquick" them at the outset. The last game sure was sloppy -- more from mistimed passes (one of the first plays of the game was an alleyoop from Cook to Bowman that was just off the mark) and guys not in sync than anything else. What made this game different was that they didn't let one part of the game affect the other, which was nice to see. In the ORU game, I thought the guys let the defensive and rebounding troubles affect their composure on offense.
