So when did the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul get kicked out of the Midwest? The Cities are the most underatted place in the US IMO, and they definately kick Columbus's ass in all categories Only minus has to be the inhuman temperatures Isn't that what they say about Hell?

Chicago's a nice place to visit when it's not winter (i.e. July). Milwaukee's not exactly a destination, but it's an easy place to live.
The Midwest has its charms, but you just have to look harder to find them. It's not the same instant gratification lifestyle of the East Coast.

Matta is a good coach but anyone who caught that WSJ article and read how much money the OSU athletic department generates suggests to me that Matta wouldn't be half the recruiter he is if he didn not have the huge finances that allowed him to spend any amount he wanted to fly scores of players in and out of Columbus. That could be said about a lot of coaches, MCI. Do you think kids would rush to Durham if Coach K didn't have the resources to attract them there? You give American, Howard, or Mason those type of resources, they will consistently field a top 25 ball club.

Wait...I thought I just read vacation to the midwest...hahaha...that is awesome...you guys crack me up. Oh Dudeslade, you funny bastard. You're so right! Why would anyone ever want to go anywhere that's not on an ocean? The mere prospect of doing so is preposterous. You can't carve any sick waves in Des Moines. Am I wrong? They've probably never even heard of surfing in Ohio. And if you can't surf, why even bother, right? Surf or die, bro!!! [High five!] And FYI, there are other pieces of punctuation besides ...

Besides, do we really want surfers and filthy east coasters comeing in and dirtying up God's Country? They would also probably bring their wacky tobacky and their hip hop in and corrupt our wholesome chubby children!

So when did the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul get kicked out of the Midwest? Minn is the worst city ever. Thats where Florida knocked us out of the NCAA tourney two years ago and I had to spend my weekend wondering around the mall of American until my flight could get me out of that dump. Also they put Mayo on my taco at Chevy's. I almost threw up!

Oh man, don't make me start throwing out statistics about my fair Garden State's capita income and other markers as compared to, say, Minnesota . This thread has some potential. Not quite sure what it has to do with Josh Hairston any more, but there is definitely some potential...

You can brag about the per-capita income all you want, but you can't discount the northern part or the per-capita greasiness of Jersey. As the Daily Show so cogently pointed out, the ideal slogan is: "New Jersey: One Afternoon is Enough."

Anyone who has taken a vacation in the midwest raise your hand...... thats what I thought..... Hand Raise: Dayton, Ohio An excellent place to visit. I hope you managed to take in the lovely Air Force museum at Wright-Patterson. I'll also raise my hand having grown up in the midwest I took many a weekend trip, and even since moving out and living in DC, SF and LA, I still manage to visit the midwest on occasion for reasons other than to go back to my beloved 'nati. Amongst places I've been in the midwest, I found all of the following to have something worth visiting: Chicago, Indy, Minn, Cleveland, C-bus (despite my bashing of the airport earlier, there is no nicer place to be after an OSU football win, when you can see the cars being flipped and the couches set ablaze), Louisville (which many of the west coasters seemed to appreciate earlier this year), St. Louis, Milwaukee (life isn't complete without a brewery tour at at least one of those two), Kansas City (amazing BBQ). For those of you that think all intelligent life ends west of the Hudson and east of the 5 freeway I highly recommend a trip.
