Would've liked to see Summers get an honorable mention if LEVANCE FIELDS does. I mean, seriously. And I dont think there's anything "honorable" about a player who feels the need to slap the logo of the home team when on the road... especially in a losing effort.

Not to take anything away from Roy's honor, but I've never really understood what "Preseason Player of the Year" means. Does it mean 'this is how we see the season playing out, with this guy winning the POY at the end of the year' or is it more just a general 'this is the most hyped guy coming into this year'?

I think the coaches vote for a POY in addition to the whole team so it probably means he received the most votes for that. |

I was thinking something along the same lines, wondering if there is anything more meaningless than Preseason POY. That is, until I saw that there is a Preseason ROY. |

11 players on the pre-season all-conference team and 2 honorable mentions??
I realize I'm nowhere near the first to bring this up, but in what world does this make sense?
The all-conference team should be the more exclusive of the two lists, no?
Hell, throw 20 honorable mentions in there if you want, but keep the all conference team to 5 (or maybe 6 -- 5 plus POY).

I don't know if this is right but it says that Roy's the first Hoya to be a preseason POY since Zo, and of course we all remember the last time we had a Hoya for the real POY...
I can't wait for this season to start!
