ILLbanianKid, check out the ticket exchange board that was recently created (in part due to my suggestion - you're the man DFW!) for such requests, located at:
hoyatalk2.proboards30.com/index.cgi?board=tickets
Please be careful to read the rules, as it clearly states that tickets should be donated, exchanged or sold for face value or under, and that any attempts at turning a profit must transpire off this board.
In reference to this whole concept, I think it was very prudent and beneficial to this community for DFW to implement the ticket exchange, and enforce a strict policy of face value or under (Legal issues aside),
However, my personal experience have shaped my philosophy on scalping, and I for one, have no problem with it, as it provides me with a very valuable service. The only scalpers I hate are those who are dishonest and/or attempt to sell you invalid/fake tickets. I am a crazy enough Hoya fan to be more than happy paying in excess of a hundreds dollars to get front row seats to a huge event (such as St. Leo's @ Georgetown, ha!)
Professional services combined with the corporate lock-down on, for instance, BET tickets, enables a hard-core (but not rich) to get good seats, which are very important to me. Now, simultaneously, I would hope that members on this board who would otherwise leave a seat empty, would rather give their ticket away and fill their seat with a passionate fan, than make a ton of money off it by selling it to an opposing fan or to a rich non-fan. However, I do think that most fans who buy from scalpers off the streat, or at least not from professional (rip-off) ticket services, often are the passionate "Joe Hoya," and not the corporate stiff or disinterested fan. I guess I just have too much energy at this time of night, but I basically am giving you (not that you care) my nod of approval if you at times have been on the buying and/or selling end of scalping.
My morals apply not to the transaction that is technically illegal, but to the nature of the buyer. In other words, please try to make sure that you sell your tickets to passionate Hoya fans. If not, unless you're desparate for the money, give it away on this board, and the final rule, and clearly the most important, is NEVER, EVER, give/sell/exchange your tickets with someone who is a Syracuse, UConn or Nova fan!
GO HOYAS!!! BRING HOME A TROPHY FROM HAWAII!
