Given what the current administration has done to the USPS, that's a remarkably credible excuse...

Mine's been received, but is very likely one of several thousand with a printing error that will make it unreadable by the scanners at my polling place (my dumb state doesn't count absentee ballots until they are delivered to precincts on election day). The County is deciding whether to have poll workers manually copy the info to readable forms, or just color in a small, misprinted "timing mark" on the ballots so that they can be scanned.

Jesus. This racist crap is so depressing. And I say this as a white man. I can't begin the fathom how BIPOC must feel every day having to deal with this . I mean, in that part of Wisconsin, you’re much more likely to see a black person on TV than you are in real life. The amount of... ignorance... is shocking. The shelter has raised over $86,000 from a GoFundMe campaign to replace the lost appropriation for what they are assuming will be a multi-year basis. Not that it excuses the County's craven abdication of its responsibility...

Republicans have been harping about splitting the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals for years. Do them one better and split them all.

Maybe President Ego will stop the phony “I’ve been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize” BS. ... or just whine that it was stolen from him, like pretty much everything else. He wasn't nominated for the 2020 Peace Prize - he doesn't get to be disappointed until this time next year.

Quite possibly taking a large group of $500/plate folks at an Ozaukee County Republican fundraiser down with him. He was maintaining until yesterday that he wasn't going to self-quarantine because he felt fine. Amazingly, that still probably only makes him the 3rd dumbest person in the Wisconsin congressional delegation. If you look at the invite, number 1 or 2 was also there. In my mind, it's 1- Grothman and 2 - Tiffany, but YMMV. Lots to chose from in this stupid state.

That takes the cake today (at least as of 5:30 CST) for thing you thought you were ever likely to see published in the U.S.

Breonna Taylor case in Louisville. Three counts against only one officer, Brent Hankison. No manslaughter charges or charges against any other officers in the debacle. (1) A person is guilty of wanton endangerment in the first degree when, under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life, he wantonly engages in conduct which creates a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to another person. So had he had better aim, he wouldn't have been charged? The indictment relates to his firing into the neighboring apartment. The more things change....

Right up there with sending rapid testing kits to Big 10 football teams, rather than healthcare workers.

Whether or not Justice Ginsberg's wishes have anything to do with it (and I don't think they do, although it's not as if it's a novel argument - there are lots of quotes from 2016 about Obama having to nominate a conservative for "Scalia's Seat," and probably lots of quotes from 1991 about Bush having an obligation to replace Thurgood Marshall with a comparable jurist), what IS different is a President whose immediate reaction is to assume that the statement wasn't actually genuine, but was cooked up by his opposition for political purposes.

Glad to know Wisconsin football will get all the tests it needs, since the rest of the state is currently experiencing a huge spike in cases, STILL without adequate testing resources. Front line healthcare workers can't get rapid tests, ffs.

He's not winning this in a few weeks. He's nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. Outside of the BBC, I don't think anyone's picked up on that.

This is about as stern a rebuke he’ll get from the Republicans. Well, Sen. Collins will doubtless be concerned...
