Not if you get stops on the other side of the ball. The 2007 team erased a double digit deficit in the second half in the elite eight against a more formidable team than Ohio. They held UNC without a field goal for over 10 minutes. Comebacks begin with defense. Exactly. I haven’t had time to hear the podcasts, but some of it sounds like excuses. A few defensive stops here and there, and we win that game. But as Julian put it, the day before the game our starters could not stop our backups running Ohio’s offense and JT3 left the practice session without coming up with a plan. Also, recently, Virginia and Villanova haven’t had a problem running a slow and deliberate offense, compared to Pat’s, to winning records, effective recruiting and getting players to the NBA. It is the player’s responsibility to work to get ready for the next level, not just the coaching staff’s. Finally, an argument can be made that Austin would’ve been better suited for an open, running offense with bad defenses like Pat has. But, Austin never got into good shape until after his last GU game and before the Draft. So, I think that he would tire more easily than under JT3’s offense and therefore decrease his offensive efficiency under Pat’s offense. On the other hand, with his bullish penetrations and his perimeter game, I think Chris would’ve thrived under Pat’s scheme. madgesiq92 and prhoya sorry let me clarify my comments and add context, because they didn’t sound like they were making excuses. This was at around the 50 minute mark of the Kente Korner episode. Bobby Bancroft asked them what game keeps them up at night. They mentioned a couple of games, and then Bobby said what about the Ohio game? For me, that kind of showed that they didn’t feel like they let that game go that they should have won, like some of the other ones they had mentioned. But Chris responded that in hindsight he felt like there weren’t clearly defined roles on that team for players to know what they should be doing in certain situations. And Austin made the comment about it being hard to come back in a tournament game in the Princeton when you’re not pressing. If you listen to it, they don’t sound like they’re making excuses, just making observations about that year’s team. And it’s not like they said they were playing good defense. They were just responding to the question about why that game doesn’t keep them up at night. So they didn’t go into as much depth as Vaughn did in that other interview.

As mentioned earlier, the defense lost the Ohio game. 83 points should have been enough from the Princeton based offense to beat the Bobcats. I would love to hear Chris and Austin comment on that game, given Julian Vaughn's take on it. They spoke briefly about it during their Kente Korner podcast appearance last week. They didn’t go into that much detail from what I remember, but they did mention that it was hard to come back from a deficit of 8-9 points in the Princeton Offense.

Did they ask you to say this? Real talk. Cause that’s asinine. You think I’m just reacting and remembering to things I’ve made up then? Just because that’s not YOUr experience doesn’t mean it’s not someone else’s. And frankly I don’t know how you can confidently say that you’ve digested every single post on this board and know the exact content and explanations for deleted posts....where’d you get your crystal ball? I am new to posting but I have been watching the boards for a few years and I have to say, I am total support of rockhoya. FrazierFanatic comment about the board doesn't edit, delete or admonished posters is totally untrue. How do I know? Because, it actually happened to me! My post wasn't deleted but it was moved to another thread, the moderator made up, along with the string of related comments. Now granted, my post was "off the subject" and so I understand the admin may have been a little annoyed. However, I said in my post, that I wasn't going to speak on this subject anymore after I made my last comment. The interesting thing is....throughout the years, I have seen many post veer off topic and the admins begging posters to stay on topic. However, I never seen a thread get moved. Never ever. I get the feeling because I was speaking about Coach Ewing maybe too glowingly, the admin felt some type of way and moved the whole thread. I said to myself, I've never seen an admin move a whole thread before, wow! Maybe I'm wrong in my thought/perception but I swear I have seen the admins begging people to stay on topic for a lot of these post. If I am right about what I've seen, that is a form of "selective" editing or at least "selective" moderating. Also, there are too many posters saying negative things about the players and coaches. It's almost like they want the team to fail. I often time think these guys can't be real Hoya fans. They must be assistant coaches or fans of other schools that the kid has on his list and they are trying to steer the kid away from Georgetown. How many times have I seen, "oh he's a Duke lean"? "Oh he's a Memphis lean". How many times have I seen players critized in these post? The posters criticize the present players, the past players and the high school players. What is that all about? It certainly is strange since we all are supposed to be Hoya fans. hoyafansinceewingera Moving posts into new threads happens regularly. Just this past week DFW’s thread about Hoya fans started as a post in a different thread. You shouldn’t take that as a slight, it’s actually a way to give your posts (really fun and interesting ones I’ll add) more visibility in a proper place where others can see them and respond accordingly. danmcq does a really great job here, even though his job is especially important right now. He helps to keep us all within the board rules, which doesn’t involve moderating positivity or negativity. rockhoya The negativity from some posters can be tough, but debate and discussion should refrain from personal attacks and name calling because they detract from the points being made and that’s when mods get involved.

Big congratulations to Kevin Braswell on earning his Georgetown degree! Patrick Ewing and Patrick Ewing Jr helped him come back to campus last Fall to complete his degree after he was fired from his previous coaching job last summer.

On a separate Instagram Live Dawg Talk session today, Austin Freeman was asked why Georgetown isn’t getting local recruits. His response was that local kids right now see Georgetown as a mid major. He said that in terms of local schools, there’s Maryland...and then there’s the Georgetown’s, GWs, and George Masons.
They think it’s something that can be fixed with winning and better recruiting, and that it wasn’t like that when they were in school. But they said it’ll take some time and some work to restore that image locally.

Besides this Frampton kid, are there any high(ish) level transfers out there? I don't want to take another high school kid in this class. Unconfirmed interest in Yor Anei, Nojel Eastern, and Luke Frampton.
