I think it is fine. Howard, American & UMBC are the types of teams we should play if we can get some local games. The one I don't like is Longwood. They are low RPI and not terribly close by. That is the only one that screams out as weak. Since we have a lot of freshman that will have to deliver this year, I feel overall it is a good mix. The TCU, Cuse, SDSU, and South Carolina games are all major conference teams that will be solid tests. We need to be 10-1 with this schedule heading into BE play. I wonder if Kirby is friends with the Longwood coach since he was previously an AAU coach in Houston for 16 years. On top of that, Longwood is only a 3+ hour drive away, so no hotel/flight costs to cover.

The hedge is that if Georgetown can get more season ticket holders willing to pay for 12 games than those that are willing to pay for 18, it works-- the turnout may be low for Dartmouth but more for Butler and Marquette. However, if the number of people that would pay for 12 is largely the same as that which would pay for 18, there's going to be an issue. It's a marketing ploy for sure--those 12 games this coming season cost the same as the 18 games two seasons ago. Or I guess more accurately, your season tickets cost the same for the same number of games as two seasons ago, but you have to do a little extra work to get 1/3 of the tickets, and those tickets might be in a slightly better location if you'd like, but for, like, Longwood. Plus you can get 4 additional tickets for free to those 6 games. Not a huge value, but if all of your tickets are together in a decent location, that’s better than getting a random free ticket behind the basket for a retweet.

It's odd that "Georgetown Recruiting" never retweets with their comments.

Complex situation...I guess my question would be whether he made the decision to transfer without regard to his relationship with Bergeron (that may sound strange, but obviously his decision to leave caused Bergeron (it appears) to lose his job)...or to say it another way, did Bergeron intend to stay at UMass after Mitchell's transfer decision, given his engagement to Mitchell's mom...? My hope (albeit very farfetched) would be that we are closer to his home (if still the case) of Elizabeth, Pa. than any of the aforementioned offer programs, AND that he was both first team all conference AND first team all academic, so with the Bergeron situation aside and with an opening at his position with a HOF coach, we would seem to be an attractive option based on the high quality individual and his priorities...And before someone says this is all wishful thinking, I couldn't agree more... From the article: "Then there is the man behind Mitchell, Tony Bergeron, who was helping the 6-foot-9-inch sophomore star explore his options beyond UMass — even as Bergeron was under contract as McCall’s assistant coach." It sounds like Mitchell entered the portal, Bergeron kept advising him (given their connections) while still under contract with UMASS, and then UMASS bought out his contract.

Doesn’t feel like we are being talked about with a lot of power forwards in 22 which is a little surprising. Am I wrong on that? Based on my records, the Hoyas have extended 68 offers to players in the 2022 class (out of the 118 players they have been mentioned as having at least some level of interest). 13 of those players have already picked schools or eliminated the Hoyas, which leaves 55 open offers. Of those 55 players, 8 are Power Forwards, 7 are Centers, 13 are Small Forwards, 13 are Shooting Guards, and 14 are Point Guards, keeping in mind that positions are slightly arbitrary and just based on how the players are classified on recruiting sites. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CtUgTwapB5rCvc7Dm6GIMQ-GaSRoUUjB12mSM9evPC4/edit?usp=sharing

I tried to like this post multiple times but I guess it doesn't work that way.

Ryan Mutombo shared the post of PBJ's final three and Aminu liked it. PBJ to Hoyas confirmed. Victor Muresan also liked the post, so yeah it's definitely a done deal.

All DC capacity restrictions will be lifted by June 11, about a month before Kenner League usually starts.

With the post graduate thing. Previously, you could transfer without sitting for your post graduate year. (I'm assuming this was always a one time thing) If you look at Bile as an example. He transferred from Otero to NW State. And sat out a year. Then as a graduate student he didn't have to sit out because of the immediately eligible graduate rule. Under the new rules if Bile had to do it again. He could use his one time immediate eligibility when he transferred from Otero to NW state. But then he would have to apply for a waiver for his post graduate year. In either scenario he is getting a one time immediate eligibility. ---- Carey would have used his one time immediate eligibility when he came to Georgetown. So if he chose to play elsewhere next year he would have already used it up so would have to sit or apply for a waiver. This is essentially giving everyone one free get out of jail card so to speak. But you can't get more than one no matter when you use it. They don't want to have people parlay it to keep transferring multiple times. For clarification Bile didn't have to sit out after Otero as transferring from a JC to a D1 doesn't require a player to sit out, he had a red shirt year of some sort. Bile still could do it if Georgetown would offer a scholarship, but Bile has been saying he is going to play pro overseas. Yeah Bile technically transferred from Otero to Bradley and enrolled but left after 1 practice and transferred to Northwestern St. It was that transfer that required him to sit out a year.
