Katz says in his blog today that we'll be back playing the Dookies after taking this season off from the series.
Good news.

Very nice. I'm glad they found a way to make this happen.
Given Duke only plays exactly who they want to OOC, this is a good sign for our program long term.

Indeed - a nice rivalry with Duke never hurts.

No - the Hoyas were afraid to play Paulus. They are assuming he will go pro after next year.

Would love to see the Vandy series continue as well. Oregon, not so much.

They are soooooooooooo scared of us, man.
I wonder if III would be open to playing an Ivy team (other than Princeton) just so that he can tapdance on their heads again? Didn't we get pummeled by Brown in football? I'm sure III and the gang could serve some payback.

Believe this is how the series has gone--we played them back to back--took a year off and resumed the home and home. I like it and it's so much more fun to have a non conference schedule that challenges the program.

I think Oregon would be great to continue - who knew we were playing an elite 8 team? I think we could benefit from scheduling them a little bit later though, haha.

I think it's great that we're re-upping this series. Duke is a natural rival in so many ways, it makes a lot of sense to have them as a frequent OOC opponent. Plus, one of the most fun days of life was the time between Brandon's steal, the court rush, and the next morning.
And yeah Jacko -- remember when everyone was counting Oregon as one of our bad losses? I guess that just goes to show how good we KNEW we could be.
I like the idea SoCal -- and I think Penn would be the most natural and highest value choice, given their consistent successes, proximity, similar institutions, and style of play. They'd give us a game and show us what an early round NCAA opponent might be like.
CO, Vandy would also be great to re-up: we have a history of spoiling each other's fun now -- three games in a row (they beat us at home, we beat them at home, and we sucker-punch them in the Sweet 16). Some of the 'Dores fans at the Meadowlands were talking about us as a rival.

I'd consider Vandy a rival as well if we played them as often as we do, but later in the season. You have to have a good schedule from beginning to end, but it's hard to regard them as rivals when you're playing a tune-up every year. I think this is also why we consider Dook more of a rivalry - we play them while both of our teams are playing at a respectable level.
Plus I freaking hate them. Vandy fans are so durn nice.
