Apologize in advance if this has already been posted, but noticed something hidden away in an Examiner article on a recent event for outgoing GWU President Stephen Joel Trachtenberg... "Georgetown President John DeGioia promised to name the prize of a G.W.-Georgetown basketball game the 'Trachtenberg Trophy' should the coaches of the two teams ever decide to play the much anticipated cross-town rivalry game." www.examiner.com/blogs/Yeas_and_Nays/2007/5/21/GWU-Roasts-TrachtenbergMy point on this in the past is that we should look past Maryland and play Virginia and GWU every year. If Maryland and a certain sportswriter (I won't type his name) want to play the blame game let them, but there is no reason for us to not play GWU.

I thought that certian sportswriter was upset about us not playing GW.
Either way, I sort of enjoy GW's whining about us not playing them. I'd rather play UVa and George Mason before we play GW.

We're putting cover sheets on all of our TPS reports now. Didn't you get the memo?
It's "WG" people--"W" followed by "G"

Maryland and GW are interesting, however I prefer sectional games, i.e SEC, Big Ten. I would like to play Indiana, Michigan St. Kentucky, Florida or even UMemphis. All of these games would definitely be national televised.

GW fans get excited when they win 25 games against lesser opponents, make it to the NCAA tournament as a 12 seed, and think they have a shot at the final four after a first round upset.
GU fans get excited when we win 25 games many against Big East competition, make it to the NCAA tournament as a 2 seed and make it to the final weekend.
Why would we play them? It doesn't help our RPI or tourney seeding. And it wouldn't even do anything for attendance.
GW is trash - and it always has been. Sorry guys.

WG fans haven't gotten the chance to get excited about first round upsets recently. Just a great win as an 8 seed in 2006.

It would definitely do something for attendance, unless they had the game over Christmas break and it would help/hurt our RPI based on who they replaced.
