I am just curious if you all think that no news on Roy or Jeff hiring an agent is good news or do you think that the closer the deadline to withdraw their names gets, then it's bad news? What is the most recent sentiment?

P.S. No wise-a$$ answers like "no announcement of an agent" is good news, or no removing of their names is bad. I know that much. I am just curious if you have any interpretation as to what the lack of any announcement might mean.

I think it means very little. We know that David Falk is hovering around and we know that both guys will go through the entire process. That means talking to teams, working out and gathering as much information as possible. I don't think we find out one way or another until very close to the draft deadline. Both guys have an option so they might as well hold it until they're forced to exercise it.

i think the general idea of declaring is going to the camp to see where you are going to fall in the draft . . . . with that said, i don't think anyone expected a change of status until after at least orlando. maybe that was just my feeling and isn't conventional wisdom, but i think i would take jeff, roy, and jtiii(in his comments about them) at their words and understand that they are truly weighing their options. i guess it's possible they have made up their minds and are just torturing us, but i don't believe it.

the only times that would make sense for an announcement would be after the lottery, after the predraft camp, and after any workouts they do. Until then it would make no sense for them to announce anything. I truly think we won't hear anythign till the last second.

David Falk has been very close to the Hoya program for decades. He is allowed to talk to the guys and their families, so long as they don't sign anything. Falk will not pressure them unduly because he has so much more to lose by breaking trust with the two JTs than he would gain with one recruit. So the agent situation is good for us.
As others have posted, until Jeff and Roy go through the pre-draft camp and such, there won't be any more news. The camps and getting more info were the whole reason for declaring. Not signing with an agent gives them the option to return. So things are right where they should be. THe boys are evaluating the situation, NBA teams are evaluating them, and a decision will be reached before the deadline.
Everything else is just speculation (unless you are a family member of Jeff or Roy and are reading this board.)
We all just need to be patient.
As for me, I watched the tape of the GU-UNC game last night. Sure enough, we came back and won the game in OT again!
I did notice how the TarHeels really lost their composure in the last 5-10 minutes. Amazing how they were able to toss in 3's easily earlier in the game, but when crunch time came and our boys applied the pressure.... the TarHeels choked. You could see it on their faces.
Jessie and Jon were in control and very aggressive. Our much maligned backcourt was great. Can't wait to see Kenner -- wish I could see team practices next Fall when Wright and Freeman go up against Jon and JEssie. Not to leave out Rivers. That would be a lot of fun to watch.

I could not agree more - especially for Roy - not every team will want to build around a slower center even if he has polished post moves. There is a seemingly unlimited market in the draft for scoring wings like Jeff.

There is a seemingly unlimited market in the draft for scoring wings like Jeff. You both make a great point with regards to the drafting order. That had kind of skipped my mind. As far as Roy is concerned, I think a team like San Antonio would be a great fit for him although I know he won't still be on the board when it's finally their turn. Boston could use him ... but then again Boston could use me. I think any execution based team offense would be a good fit for Hibbert. I don't see him being as effective in an up and down game. I could see him being taken Miami if they were fortunate enough to be at the right spot at the right time. He would be a nice contrast to Shaq in the low post and could learn the other side of the Big Man's game in Shaq's last couple of years and hopefully be in a good spot to become a star in 3. Maybe he could even teach the big man to shoot free throws ... although I doubt it. As for Green, I think you are right in so far as that is a fairly loaded position, but I think that Jeff is the gem of the class. He really is a Corey Brewer with more bulk and that is tremendously important at the next level. Brewer is only 180-185 lbs right now. That is just to small for that spot.

I did the same yesterday (watch UNC gm) while the kids and wife were knapping...as I have both the UNC and tOSU gms recorded. One to remind me of what the team accomplished throughout the yr and the other to remind me of what could have been.

Um, we (the Gators) did have an Orien Greene a few years back, but Taurean is a Green just like Jeff. You are obviously a bozo, unlike myself. Have a nice day.

HiFi, you do realize that if Jeff and Roy both announce they are leaving we are going to all blame you for angering the basketball gods with this thread. Seriously. Of course, if they announce that they both stay, you've just bought yourself another year around HoyaTalk . If one leaves and one goes, it remains business as usual.
