I hope this is not clutter, but I have SOO many favorite moments from the past year's team, that I thought i would ATTEMPT to rank mine, and maybe see other peoples' list to compare. I'm STILL on a high from the Sabre's FINISH in OT last night, that it kind of reminded me of many of the HOYAS' finishes throughout the past year. Here are my favorite game moments from the past year (although some may want to include other off court moments like the gala and some of the great signings): 1. JEFF'S BIG shot to FINISH Vandy off, and the ensuing celebration marking the team's first Elite 8 in 11 years. 2. JWALL's BIG 3 to send the UNC game into OT: Simply put - the BEST game I EVER witnessed LIVE. BTW, I thought JEFF'S banker with about two minutes to go in OT, that put us up 6, was the Shot that broke their backs - and paved our way to Atlanta. 3. JEFF'S DUNK, and Patrick's REVERSE JAM over didley in the BC game that put that game in our favor, and sent those traitors back to the site of the tea party - their best claim to fame. 4. JEFF'S BIG bucket, AND 1 against ND in the BET Semis that paved the way for the HOYAS to get to the Final. 5. JEFF'S game winning shot at nova to put those patsies away at the WACK center. 6. Back to the ND Game: JWALL getting the ball and wisely throwing it up in the air away from their basket, to polish off that game, and the ensuing celebration: the smiles on the guys faces (like Jeremiah's) could make ANYONE a HOYA Fan - and simply brought joy to my heart and a tear to my eye. 7. JEFF and ROY's 20 + point run vs marquette in the last 7 minutes of that game to put it away - and when they Hugged during the last seconds: C'mon guys - ONE MORE YEAR!! 8. Jeremiah's 2 threes against Cincy. That game was really getting a bit tougher than it should have been - great for Jeremiah to be the one to hit 2 straight 3s to bring us back and eventually keep the streak alive. Big moment for Him AND the team. 9. Early in the Year: at Vandy - when Patrick took it the hoop for the bucket "AND ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNE" Yell. I pretty much wore out my tape on THAT moment alone!! 10. The compilation of the games AT Vandy; Michigan and L'ville - and the home game against Marquette. To see the team improve and be so incredibly efficient vs. whatever defense was out there was absolutely breathtaking. Honorable Mention: Cutting down the Nets at the BET and at the Meadowlands; Big moments from the other freshmen throughout the year (Summer's dunks and Vernon's athletic abilities); Edges' shot in the first game to help us escape what would have been an embarrasing loss. PHEW. These are just those moments I wanted to honor and remember on here, but there are many others. I'd love to see some of the favorite moments from other fans memories. PEACE!! And thanks to those who make it possible for us to talk HOYA HOOPS YEARROUND. I'm outtie.

Those were awesome...
Other moments I liked...
- Dajuan's two dunks against UNC in overtime. The one where he jumps over Hansborough when he had fallen down and the other, when he dunks on the fast break and I allowed myself to say we were going to the final four for sure.
-Can't pick just one moment from the home Pitt game this year, the entire day was amazing. 1)Getting there like 4 hours early 2)Eating chipotle outside Verizon 3)Getting to seats before the 60:00 before gametime countdown had even started. 4)Booing the moron who said "Go Pitt" at halftime 5)Going crazy after the game.
- When Jeremiah dropped 2 threes in a row and how the Hoya Blue game watch went crazy.
- Going up to Nova and ...
1) Jessie Sapp's half-court shot. 2) Singing the fight song and chanting hoya saxa in the Wachovia Center after the game and just generally dominating the second level.
- also against UNC - When Hansborough missed two straight free throws in OT after going 14 for 14 or something like that. Obviously it wasn't something the Hoyas did but it was so satisfying to see that combined with how we had just completely dominated OT.
Awesome season, these are just a few of the memories I know I'll have forever.
EDIT: Realized this was supposed to be only plays but whatever, most of what I listed was plays. Plus I figure everyone can enjoy reliving non-game stuff.

Great thread topic. But you can't do this list without a single Jessie Sapp appearance. How about his buzzer beater before halftime in Philly? Or his reversal of direction to beat Hansbrough to the hoop for a huge bucket with under two minutes left against Carolina?
I can't even remember the opponent, but in one of the home games Sapp had a sick dunk coming down the lane after a perfect bounce pass from Ewing. Strong candidate for Hoya dunk of the year.

GREAT POINT!! I KNEW I was forgetting SOMEBODY SPECIAL!! That's why i tried to add the freshmen in the Honorable Mention . Exactly right Locker: Jessie is on my First Team of The ALL TIME HOYAS "IN YOUR FACE" List: those Hoyas who basically said "IN YOUR FACE" to ALL the doubters (won't mention some of those nitwits now). He's the SG, and Smitty is the PG. Thanks!!

How about Jeff Green blocking Russell Carter, Jessie Sapp then stripping Carter of the ball, and Jessie throwing a no-look alley-oop to Jeff on the fast break in the first Notre Dame game?

1) JWall's 3 to complete the comeback versus UNC
2) Green finishes Vandy
3) Green and 1 versus ND
4) Reverse and 1 by Pat versus BC to ice it
5) Read the scouting report, Jessie deadly from 65 at 'Nova
6) Jeff makes the half-courter count with the mid-ranger at 'Nova
7) Jeff to Jessie on the 70-foot assist at home versus Pitt
8) Jessie again beats the buzzer at the half versus St. Johns
9) Jeff follows with authority versus BC
10) Shhhhh it's silent Dajuan stopping a run with a three at Louisville

Without a doubt Dajuan leaping over the prone Tyler Hansbrough and slamming it home at the start of overtime. So freakin sweet.

all great moments...
i understand there might be a bias toward game winning/tying shots and three pointers, but big roy didn't get much love in the above plays. some great roy moments:
--v. UNC: the drop-step, spin and dunk on reyshawn terry was a huge play with almost 2 mins to go to cut the UNC lead to 5.
--v. UNC: roy's opening bucket, in which he dribble drove and spun move on hansbrough all the way from the three point line.
v. BC: the pass for the ewing dunk-and-one was pure class.
--v. Oregon: roy sprinting back on an oregon fastbreak to smack an oregon layup off the backboard.
-v. UNC: Roy's block of reyshawn terry in OT
v. Pitt in BET final: Roy's game-long domination of Gray
v. Vandy: in the last four minutes j-wall had a huge long two from behind the free throw line that he created off an ashanti-style step back j.

v. Pitt @ BET - Roy faking and dunking on Aaron Gray's face. The moment I knew we'd win.
v. UNC - DaJuan Summers' screaming dunk over the prone Tyler Hansborough. The moment I knew we'd win.

All great plays... my favorite was already mentioned above... (1) Sapp's no look lob to Jeff for the one handed alley-oop dunk (ND.. game 1); (2) in the BET game vs ND.... Sapp throwing a length of the court pass to Jeff, who caught it in full stride... did a 360 spin, and layed it up before falling into the crowd!!!! My jaw dropped on that one.

That Sapp pass was nice indeed! In a general sense, I enjoyed watching Rivers' progress from a kid with that "deer in the headlights" look to a major contributor by midseason. Kudos to Rivers for his progress and to the staff for developing him.

I can't even remember the opponent, but in one of the home games Sapp had a sick dunk coming down the lane after a perfect bounce pass from Ewing. Strong candidate for Hoya dunk of the year. This play was against Cinci, and really an amazing sequence in general. I believe there was a loose ball and Jeff's hustle to fling the ball toward Ewing before it went out of bounds set Sapp up for a drive down the middle of the lane and a two handed jam.
