facebook can't be viewed (to my knowledge) unless you are in Sims' "network" or one of his "friends" Your right, and I would be suprised at anyone seeing it as highschool networks are more protected than others, he certainatly hasn't joined the Georgetown network (nor can he until he recieves a legitimate email account from the university) I don't much about this kid but he seems to me to be Vernon Macklin v2. For those with greater information how does he compare with Braswell and other guys we are looking at like Samuels?

This thread is bordering on becoming as surreal as the time on the old board when we had that thread titled "Esh on George Michael RIGHT NOW!" about whether Sweetney was gonna declare, and it turned into everyone quoting Wham! lyrics in their post titles.
I am anxiously waiting to hear lichoya's opinion on what this thing called "Facebook" might be. ;D

This has been rumored to happen for a while--I was told he would announce in Mid-May but this makes sense being around Basketball Banquet.
His game is nothing like Macklin's in terms of offensive game at this point. Sims is a tremendous face up shooter to about 18 feet and can really hit the baseline jumper as well. Improved his post skills tremendously from his Soph season to this past year as a JR. Very good passer and unselfish player. Runs floor well, has good shot blocking skills, and rebounds well too. Definately is at LEAST 6'10--is a bit thin right now but is adding strength and plays against big time competition.
His game compliments Macklin and Braswell--Sims has the ability/touch on his shot to be able to hit 3 pt shot in college by time he's done developing and he's a very good passer. Him at top of key or baseline is a weapon--was outstanding in last Summer's Nike Camp.
If I had a choice of who I would take in terms of long term potential out of Samardo Samuels and Henry Sims--I go with Sims due to his size, his fit for the Hoya offensive system, and what is needed to replace the frontcourt players GU will be losing. Samuels is an excellent player--but I prefer 6'10 over 6'8 when it comes to post players--and while Samuels could be the next Elton Brand--I'll take Braswell/Sims combo over having Samuels by himself.
Watching film of Greg Monroe--he could actually compliment both Sims/Braswell as he's more of a SF type even at 6'10. His passing skills are beyond outstanding for a HS big who plays on perimeter. That would be a dream frontcourt if you could ask for one in terms of recruiting class.

Before I leave work--thought I'd post that Sims commitment to Georgetown is CONFIRMED by his High School Coach Pat Clatchey of Mt. St. Joe's and it's on BALTIMORE SUN Sports Page--go to the newspaper's website and click on College Basketball section--it has an update--interview with Clatchey and it happened Sunday Night--he chose Hoyas over Maryland and UVA.
If someone has time to link it--even better--I'm heading out but found it on their site.
WELCOME TO GEORGETOWN HENRY!!!!!!

Welcome to Georgetown, Henry!
Like I said before, I love this signing. He's a great fit for the offense, he's got the height and ability to be a good defender (just needs the weight, which he will add), and he definitely wants to be a part of the program.
While Jeff and Roy will be leaving sooner or later, a frontcourt that includes Macklin, Sims and Chris Braswell - who played very well against MSU commit Delvon Roe this weekend will be amongst the tops in the country.

Interesting that the highschool coach suggests that we will loose three frontcourt players by 08, DaJuan going pro?
Welcome aboard Henry (I really like that name)

I wouldn't know where to get stats, but it was at LeBron James' tournament in Akron. Triple Threat lost by a point to Roe's team when the officials waved off a game-winning three by Georgetown commit Jason Clark, saying it came after the buzzer. A mdvarsity post said he had 16 rebounds in a game, though I don't know if that was against Roe.

mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?S=174#S=174&F=2580&T=4730308 posts and they've already trotted out the following excuses: lower admissions standards, weren't really interested, he's not going to be anything at Gtown, and have you seen him play? he's clearly awful - we're one Gary Williams isn't trying hard enough and a "he committed because he's black and JT3 is black too" away from reaching the full breadth of UMCP emotion.

This summer he'll be working on his strength and will use a stretch machine to try to get to 7 foot.
