So, I have been a good boy and kept my mouth shut about this for a while.
But this getting absurd. Does anyone have any info on the JTIII contract extention?
Anyone have any ideas what we can do to pressure the administration?

This is speculation. I have been talking to other people on this board about speculators like you and we don't like this sort of crap.
I call on the Admin and all other people on this board to collectively put their heads in the sand and refuse to discuss the topic or even think about it until someone publishes a story about it.

If I thought it was any of my business, I might be sending emails to the President's office and the AD. Or if I got really antsy, I might organize a "pay the man" rally.

Also, we're down two assistants going into recruiting season.

I remember JTIII's original signing took a while, even when we all knew he and GU were talking. Perhaps it's just JTIII's style.
I negotiate govt. contracts for a living, and I would describe my contract management style as "unusually slow" and "not exactly urgent." Maybe III's agent and/or GU are practicing the JJL method of contract negotiations.

I am not worried at all about the coaching situation. The president stated in public that this will br addressed and there is no reason to believe it won't be. This is an extension, not a situation like Florida where Donovan's contarct was up and he was pursued by Ky.
On the assistant front it is an honor to have two assistants picked up as HCs by other schools. I have enough faith in JT3 that he will handle this this well once we know for sure if we have to replace 1 vs. 2 assistants.
I will not suddenly question a coach who brought us from oblivion to the FF in three years. There is plenty of time to get a staff together to recruit; most of the current juniors have been recruited hard for the past year or so anyway.

I assume St. Pete thinks that I am speculating when I say either:
1. "it that it has been 3 weeks"
or 2. "no contract extention". because those are the only sentances in my post that are not asking questions.
Well, it HAS been three weeks since the final four (+/- 2 days). And there is no contract extention for III.
So I am not speculating at all . I am pointing out a GLARING problem.
If St. Pete thinks that asking for information is speculating, then he needs a new dictionary. Information is not speculation and I am asking for information.
If your post was sarcasm or a joke. I don't get it.
Now back to the point. Does anyone know anything about III's contract status? How long are we going to have to tolerate this administration screwing over our coach and jeopordizing our enjoyment of this team?

Sorry St. Pete. Missed the insider sarcasm.
Anyone unwilling to discuss this is an ignoramous. Re-signing III is what the future of the program turns on.

A rally that accomplishes all the goals of getting him a new contract without calling it a rally for a new contract is in the works. Now where did I put my Q ...

A rally is, well, a foolish idea. I can elaborate, but you get the point. It's not a case of "will they or won't they", but when it works for both parties. By my count, it's been all of 19 days since the season ended--give it a little more time.

I have one reaction to this post: Don't act like you're the only one who's concerned about this. If you think it's necessary to "pressure" the administration, then do it. Write a letter, write 100 letters, try to get on DeGioia's calendar, whatever....but coming on here and asking "What can we do?" is a waste of bandwidth, and is pointless. If something happens, and the administration sees fit to make that information public, you'll know.

This topic surely does inspire much angst among certain posters! Personally, I am not worried until someone announces that an agreement on an extension could not be reached. Unfortunately, these types of negotiations rarely move at the pace we fans would like. Yet, I nonetheless remain optimistic that a positive announcement will come in the not too distant future.

Just out of curiosity, how do we know there has not been an extension agreement?

Ahhh... the voice of reason! And, as far as I saw, the only one who can also correctly spell Extension! Thanks for your perspective.

By the way your lack of extension for over 3 weeks sounds like a medical problem to me - I'd consult your doctor.

Just out of curiosity, how do we know there has not been an extension agreement? We don't. But odds are they'd have at least announced it, seeing as how they announced Esherick's and that one, obviously, was not guaranteed to be as popular as this one would be. I doubt that they ever disclose the terms, however.
