Katz clocks in with the Hoyas at #7 even assuming Jeff leaves (but Roy stays)...now thats more like it sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=28250717. Georgetown 2006-07 Record: 30-7, 13-3 Why: Jeff Green may leave, and if that happens, the Hoyas lose their core. But if Green comes back, to go along with the ever-developing Roy Hibbert, emerging stars Jonathan Wallace and DaJuan Summers, and shooting guards Austin Freeman and Chris Wright, the Hoyas should be right at the top of the Big East. Hmm, we're #8 in the preseason this year and only #7 next year if everyone returns after a Final Four run?

Either he thinks that there are some schools out there with REALLY GOOD freshman classes coming in, or he thinks our run this year was a flash in the pan. Or maybe a little of both. Can't really think of any other explanation...

Lunatic has us as a 4-seed in his Bracketology. I'm guessing has Roy and Jeff leaving.

A lot of folks seem to dismiss the fact that we're not the only team with, assuming no NBA defections, virtually everybody back next year. So I'm not surprised that we're not necessarily being picked as next season's #1. Or even in the top four. That's all good w/me. I could care less how we're hyped before the season starts. It's how we actually play in March and April that concerns me.

It's how we actually play in March and April that concerns me. Well, we may not be the only team who gets everyone back, but we'd be the best team that gets everyone back. Florida lost everyone. Ohio State lost 80% of their starting lineup if everyone stays in. UCLA does get Kevin Love, but Michael Roll is no Aaron Afflalo. UNC was very good, but they lose Wright and add no one. I'm sure they could be better than us next year, but I'm not sure why you'd rank them better if we lost no one and added two McD's. Kansas may lose Wright and Rush, the latter being the bigger loss. Tennessee returns everyone and might add Tyler Smith. But we were better than them this year and add two McD's. So again, why would they be ranked higher? If we happen to get lucky and get both Jeff and Roy back, we're the preseason #1 if anyone is rational.

This stuff's all a matter of opinion, not fact. And, as I've said before, it doesn't matter what they say about us in August and September -- or even December and January. What I care about is what's happening in March and April. Period.

Yeah but there's no fun in that during the long summer months.

Yeah but there's no fun in that during the long summer months. I find plenty to enjoy during the summer, not the least of which is browsing the HoyaTalk board. There's, what, recruiting rumors, Kenner League play, and the anticipation of fall ball, etc. Lotsa fun stuff!
