sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=1939789Yes, we have deserved criticism in the past for playing cupcakes in our out of conference schedule. But this is our second straight year playing a #1 team out of conference. Let's just hope our 3rd game in the last 2 years against a #1 team goes better than the first two! (and i predict that it will)

Nice. Playing the #1 team in the nation should definitely draw out a lot of fans, students and otherwise. I predict a lot of Illini fans, unfortunately, but we can't let them outcheer us. Get loud, get rowdy, get drunk if you need to, this is gonna be a good one.
But first things first... Beat Penn State!

They only won by 19 against Chicago State, 78-59. I expected a bigger margin of victory but I guess they had no need to run up the score. Who knows, maybe they were working on some things and had the subs play a lot.

clearly bruce webber is taking a page out of Cal's head coach Tedfords book as he does not feel it is right to run up the score against a lesser opponent to please the BCS. now if webber would stop "campaigning," for AP votes maybe Kansas or Georgia Tech would be number 1.

"now if webber would stop "campaigning," for AP votes maybe Kansas or Georgia Tech would be number 1." Perhaps if Kansas played some quality nonconference teams (Vermont and Pacific , they might have a legitimate claim for #1. Georgia Tech is good, but their one point win over Illinois-Chicago has me scratching my head. UIC - the Flames! Hope to see you all at the MCI Center. Paint the MCI Center ORANGE!

Hey Vermont and Pacific both made the tourney last year, don't forget that. Coppenwrath is nasty, but I hear what you're saying.
All this talk about Webber campaigning for votes? Who does he think he is, Mack Brown? CAL got the royal screwjob from the polls and BCS, and Texas is forever dead to me as a result.

Kansas plays Georgia Tech in Lawrence on January 1 and plays at Kentucky in mid January. And yes Vermont is a good team, Copenrath dropped about 25 on KU.

The student section has been great so far this year, is anything big planned for the Illinois game or any added excitement on campus this week? And we're gonna be on ESPN's highlights on Friday...let's hope it's for good reason!
