Big East regular season champs, Big East tournament champs, Final Four....amazing, amazing season.
All this from a private school with 6,000 or so students competing against State schools and other private schools that have facilities and financial contributions significantly better than us.
It would have won thing if we simply had a magical tournament run (no offense George Mason), but this was a complete team through and through, and an obvious sign that the program is back to one of the most prominent in the country.

It has never been so much fun to by a Hoyas fan. Friends from all over were contacting me about Gu's performance and about 20 of them crammed into my living room to watch yesterday, pulling for Georgetown despite being alums of Vanderbilt and other schools. This is a special team and I can't wait for next season.

Lots of great thoughts and sentiments here. I've followed every Hoya season since 1982 and this has definitely been one of the most enjoyable--probably top 2 or 3 of all time for me and definitely the top one in the past 10-15 years at least. When I look back to November/December, we had a team that was struggling in so many ways--Jeff and Roy were way out of sync, our new players (freshmen and PEJr) didn't seem to be meshing well with the rest of the team and many people saw our guards as being inferior. To watch the development of this team from that point to where we are right now has been an absolutely incredible experience. Jeff and Roy showed why they are considered great pro prospects (although both could probably use one extra year of seasoning ). The new players, especially Summers and Ewing, became a HUGE part of the team's success. Our guards demonstrated many times over that they were not inferior to anyone--did they have some weaknesses? Yes, but they also had some great strengths that made up for any areas that may have been lacking. The best part about this team is that there is the potential for the whole team to be back again next year along with the addition of two McDonald's All-Americans and another promising freshman. Even if we don't return everyone, I think we can all look forward to a number of years of having the potential to do what we did this year and hopefully beyond. I don't know if future seasons will match up to this one for the sheer fact that this was the first big return to the glory days of Hoya basketball. Certainly if we are fortunate enough to win it all in the future, that will be an great season as well, but this team that developed so well and went beyond the expectations of so many and returned the Hoyas to the forefront of NCAA basketball will be tough to match. I look forward to future teams proving me wrong. To the players and coaching staff--Thank you for giving us fans a terrific ride. You showed guts, heart and class through the whole season and made this season one to remember for a long time. You've set the bar high and we will be right here to continue to help you keep the bar at that level. WE ARE GEORGETOWN, WE ARE BACK, AND HERE WE SHALL REMAIN!!!

I don't think anyone can be disappointed wit how this season has played out. This is the best year ever for me in terms of following the Hoyas. I'd like to thank the players, the coaches, the students, and the fans for making this a memorable and very successful season. What a special year it has been.
Go Hoyas.

Thank You JIII and all the players. It was an amazing ride, and its only going to get better. So many memorable moments, from dismantling Pitt to the heartwrenching UNC game. This team has served as great ambassadors to the program and the school, and November cannot come soon enough.

I've only been a fan since 2002 but I think I saw 7-8 of the Top 10 games during my time as a fan played this year.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda.... Oh what the hell, what a GREAT season! You far exceeded my expectations, so I can only be happy at what you wrought. Thank you.
Here's hoping, save the assistant coaches that move on, everyone's back next season. You guys, plus Austin, Chris and Omar, make a formidable team. I can't wait!!
P.S. Please stay injury free, i.e. don't slip on any banana peels.

Apart from getting into Georgetown, and then graduating, this is the greatest experience I've had as either a student or alumnus.
Every day as a Hoya is a great day.

I want to give a deep heart felt thanks to the players that put there heart and soul in to the team this year. Since i started as a undergraduate in 1994, I don't think I have been more proud of any other team. They made an incredible run, and for the first time we get to hang new banners in the phone booth. Regular Season Champs. BET tournament, and final four. Who would have thought this a short three years ago, getting a little nationally fanfared recruiting class and a untested coach in a power conference.
I just made it back to my place in DC after a long drive back from atlanta. It was an amazing experience. Even though Atlanta is a second home to me there (having just moved up from there after living there three years), i cannot remember it being more beutiful and it was a great host. Except for being around a lot of buckeye fans in section 220, it was a great experience. The students in the lower bowl were amazing, you could here them all the way across the stadium. Thanks to hoya blue, the students, and everyone associated with the team. It will be a long time before i forget this experience.
HOYA SAXA!!!!

I wrote a post at the beginning of the year about why this team is so special. I don't have time to find it, but needless to say, it isn't just because of the winning.
It's because of the fact that there is not one reason not to root for these guys. It was a great year because of that.
Thanks.

This team is, bar none, the classiest group of guys I have ever had the privilege to watch. They were successful on the court but were a pleasure to watch off the court as well. Going to work this morning was tough, as I had hoped for a big night tonight. But as disappointed as I am, I am so very proud of this team and how well they represented Georgetown. In these days of primadonnas, a "me-first" approach and thuggary all around in sports, these guys are so refreshing. I am so proud to be a Hoya.

As the Final 4 wound down on Saturday night, I was surprised to find that no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't be angry. I was disappointed, yes, but I wasn't angry. More than anything, this unexpected reaction showed me how incredible this season was. From the first tip against Hartford to the final Wallace 3, the season was a great ride. The lows were low...losing to Duke and buckling against Syracuse...but the highs were incredible and came often: the 100th anniversary crushing of Marquette, revenge against 'Nova (including the 3/4 court shot by Sapp!), coming up big when it counted most against Pitt to control our own destiny in the Big East (and shove it in the face of the organ donation guy), clinching the regular season title against UCONN. Of course, all of this was before the last month...which, for someone who used to think Gerald Riley was the best #32 this program had seen, was one of the best months I have ever seen. The pride I felt in winning the BET in dominant fashion was unparalleled until watching Dudley get crushed in person. Yes, that was great, but I don't have the words to describe the feeling of seeing Jeff's shot or Wallace's immaculate 3 in person at the Meadowlands. As a fan, I have never experienced a season like this, and the only thing better than watching the season past with all my fellow Hoyas is knowing that Midnight Madness is mere months away.
Thanks Hoyas.

Thank you Hoyas, for an unbelievable season. I've enjoyed every moment you've provided -- an unbelievable season at home and on the road -- especially in victory, and even in defeat, I was proud to stand up and wear the blue and grey. A special thank you to Roy, Jeff, and Jon, who THE most talented and admirable trio of young leaders in the game. It is a pleasure to watch you three continue to reach ever-higher levels of success, and while I selfishly hope you all return to the Hilltop in August, you must choose your own path. If JTIII can live or die with your decision-making abilities, then so can I.
Thank you, Coach, and to all of your staff, for the countless hours of hard work and sweat and tears your pour into making this work. In an era when too many programs chase after the mega-star or the quick fix, you've shown there is no substitute for forging a team.
Thank you to all of the families of the players and coaches and personnel -- we know the sacrifices you make so that your loved ones can shine . . . and no team demonstrates the importance of family more than Georgetown!
Thank you to Hoya Blue, the cheerleaders, the performers, and especially the BAND. You all made Verizon a true home court advantage, and your enthusiasm was infectious. And then you took it on the road, and made every venue our house.
Thank you HoyaTalk. We all share one thing in common, and its wonderful to be able to celebrate together in victory just as we can commisserate together in defeat. Special thanks to DFW, Dan, Wilson, and the mods for keeping our house in order -- and a very very special thanks to LICHOYA for bringing us all up. Bananas, indeed.
And finally, a tremendous thank you to the A-Team: Coast, Drums, Bando, HoyaDrummer, and the rest. Words escape me. We Are Georgetown.

Agreed. I have been 100% occupied with Georgetown basketball since January.
Probably the only reason i've been able to stomach my first desk job *ever* so far.
