I have been watching Hoya basketball faithfully since I was 13 (I'm 36 now). This is the only team in sports that I root for with passion. At the end of the 03-04 season when the Hoyas were 13-15, I remember thinking that the glory days of Hoya basketball were over. I was unenthusiastic with the hiring of John Thompson the III, but he has surpassed my expectations and more importantly, restablished a belief that the Hoyas have many glory days waiting for them in the future.
Thank you to the Hoyas for a magnificent season. I am proud to be a Hoya fan.
GO HOYAS!

Respect is back, fear is back, Final Four appearances are back, tradition is back, pride is back.
Thank you, Hoyas. Hold your head up proud.
Note to Chris Wright and Austin Freeman - We now expect the best! Expectations are high! Do your best!

Ditto, ditto, ditto. And thanks for you guys (and increasing number of gals - can I say that) on this board for making it so much fun for me. Let us see if we can build on this and take the championship next year. Is it November yet?

If there is any time when reiterating other peoples' point is acceptable, this is it.
This team was incredible and I loved every moment rooting for them. The accomplishments were special, but the way that they accomplished them even more so. In the end, you can't control the result, you can only control the way you play the game. And the way they played was with heart, poise and class.
I haven't cared this much about a team since I played for Georgetown (not basketball) and I can't think of a better bunch of people to cheer.
Whether Jeff or Roy come back or not, I thank them and applaud them for their contributions this year and the years previous. And I would never hold any decision against them that was in their best interest. And Sead and Kenny, my hats off to you for your effort. I know that sometimes it is even harder to give it your all every day in practice and conditioning and weights when you don't get playing time and I respect you both for sticking with it for four years and making real contributions to the team.
As for the future, I was at the first game that John Thompson III coached for Georgetown. It was an 18-point beatdown by Temple. And one of my friends who was with me said something to the effect of same song, second verse (we both graduated in 2000, so in reality it was considerably more than the second verse). And I said not on your life. The team was completely different--playing with purpose and discipline and fundamentals. It was a marked transformation to anyone who understands the game. I can't claim that I ever guessed at the time that this first-game transformation was just the tip of the iceberg, but I think I'm done underestimating JTIII. There is no doubt that this was a special season and a special group of guys--some of whom may not be coming back next year. But I would be shocked if JTIII doesn't put Georgetown in the position to have a chance to win it all again. And again. And again.
And this may sound crazy, but I don't think that it is out of the question that JTIII does even more than lift Georgetown back to the ranks of the schools that regularly challenge for the title year after year. If you were to pick one school today that has a chance to not only contend for the Final Four year after year for the next decade but to win more than their fair share, would you pick any school over Georgetown?
But speculation and hope for the future really isn't the point of this post. I just want to say as sincerely as I can, thank you, Tyler, Patrick, Jon, Jeff, Vernon, Sead, Kenny, Roy, Jeremiah, Jessie, Dajaun, Octavius and John. Thank you for a wonderful season. I have never been prouder to say We Are Georgetown.

This team made me very proud to be a Hoya and represented the university very well on a national stage. Hopefully, Jeff and Roy stay. If they don't, I can understand that and wouldn't fault them for it at all. The off-season to do list should include: finalizing III's contract extension and recruiting a big man to follow Roy - if we do those two things we will be puttin ourselves in a position to have many more 30 win seasons in the next few years.

Jeff and Roy, stay! Finish what you started!

Thanks to JT3 and team for bringing back HOYA basketball. A trip to the Final Four in JT3's third year? Incredible.
The coach and the team are the nicest, classiest guys we could possibly hope for.
Thank you... and congratulations on a SUPERB year!

A big shout out to all the players and the staff.
THANK YOU.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to follow the last 2 weeks due to travel, but I am so excited about this team and the future. And it is wonderful to know that people that love this school and its great basketball tradition are carrying this program for the coming years.
Thank you. And I can't wait for November! Hawaii 5-0!

What a great year! I am disappointed that we lost, but I am very proud of what the team accomplished this year. Everyone staying? Preseason #1? IF everyone stays, id still say not number 1, i mean Florida, if most of their juniors stay are amazing, OSU could still be good depending on who leaves, UNC will be amazing, UCLA could still be good, so i say no not number one but if everyone stays- top 5. Overall, great season, no need to make excuses about bad calls and blaming it on Jeff, doesnt matter. No need to discuss it, Great season for the hoyas. period.

Dear Hoyas,
Thank you thank you thank you for this season. It wasn't just the wins ... it was also how you won. It wasn't just the incredible plays game-in and game-out ... it was the incredible plays as a TEAM. It wasn't just the pre-season or post-BET hype ... it was that you deserved it. It wasn't just the legions of fans all of a sudden donning the blue and grey ... it was that you made us--die-hard, season-ticket holder, HoyaTalk poster, frosh, soph, library-jockey, and front-runner alike--believe that Georgetown is BACK. It wasn't just going 30-7 ... it was the qualities you all showed to get to 30-7 (especially from 4-3!).
It wasn't just the success ... it was that you showed the entire world of college hoops what it means to be GEORGETOWN. You gave those of us who graduated after the 80's the best season we've ever seen as Hoyas. You brought your famillies with you. You are Georgetown.
A thousand thank yous for making a hundred years of basketball on the hilltop mean what it now does. And from this one fan: I can't wait to see what you're capable of in 2007-2008. I'll see you from section 121.
HOYA SAXA? The 2006-2007 Georgetown men's basketball team.

While I'm very sorry we won't get another crack at Florida, this is the first time ever that I can think of where I wasn't upset/depressed that a team of mine lost in a major event. I simply can't feel anything but good things for this team. They really overachieved this year, and how can you be disappointed with this team finishing in the top 3 in the nation (I say this because I believe we put in a better showing than UCLA). I didn't get season tix this year, but you can bet I'm increasing my HHC donor level and getting them for next year! Thanks for a great season, team.
