I hate this challenge. I am from big ten country originally and I can understand that when IU, Michigan, Michigan St., Illinois, Wisconsin, were all top programs this made a lot of sense to pair off against the ACC. I think MSU was the last big ten NCAA champ and the Big East has 3 out of the last four.
How is it these two conferences think they are top dogs in the land? Also, does anyone know how long this challenge goes on for?
I think the big east needs to challenge the ACC or SEC to prove who is the best conference in the land (but let's wait until next year so we have Cincy, Marquette, the 'ville to load up our conference).

This challenge used to be the ACC-BE challenge, because we apparently weren't the only ones who debated who was the better conference.
This was discontinued by the BE because of the nonconf cupcake preferences of the BE coaches.
Time to restart it I think.
It's clear that the "Big" 10 can't offer up much of a Challenge, but a potential ACC-BE Challenge would be a virtual bloodfeud now!

I was actually thinking of posting something similar to this thread this morning.
I actually do really enjoy the Big East-ACC challenge. In my eyes, it proves nothing about "who's the best conference," contrary to what Dukie V and the other ACC idiots will tell you. That gets proven come March. But I do think it's still fun to watch.
I say let them have their fun, as we don't know how many more years the agreement's in place for. But I would love it if we got a Big East-SEC or Big East-Pac 10 challenge, or ANYTHING for that matter in place. I know schedules get done way in advance, but if the 2 commissioners really put their minds to it couldn't they make it happen for next year? Or the year after at the very least.
If I'm Mike Tranghese, watching the ACC-Big 10 kills me and I'm on the phone right now trying to get my own challenge in place. Maybe that's just me though.
Then again, even if there was a Big East Challenge next year, what are the odds G'Town would even be included? Nobody else has 16 teams and unless they go on history alone, we'd have to prove something before we get invited to do anything.

ACC-Big East challenge would be unbelievable, with Louisville, Cincy and the gang coming over next year. It would be 10x better than the ACC-Big Ten. I think we'd actually win, or at the very least give them a run for their money. I'm not sure if the ACC and Big Ten are contractually obligated to continue the current system for an indefinite period of time, but some of the powers that be up there with brains should try and get this going as soon as next year. Sorry Big Ten, you lose. Losing to them 6 times in a row just ain't cuttin' it. Give us a shot, and we'll destroy the ACC mystique. Only problem is that Big East will have 16 teams, and the ACC will only have 12. Which means at least 4 teams, and probably more, will be left out of the Challenge. Which means I'm not entirely certain of Georgetown's chances of being included. But hey, if Florida State, can play in it, we should too!
