did anyone find the announcement of one of our assistant coaches being hired as a head coach puzzling?
i thought these type of announcements are not made public until the team is no longer playing?

I didn't, but it is certainly possible. Princeton is looking for a new head coach. Both GU assistants Burke and Sydney Johnson have been mentioned.

Seems to me the word somehow leaked out re: Broadus. As recently as Saturday the Binghamton AD tried to stem the tide by saying he had not reached an agreement with anyone regarding their coaching vacancy. As you've read the official school announcement is scheduled to come today.
Timing may seem off to some, but it clearly didn't affect the Hoyas yesterday. Maybe they bought into giving Kevin a going away present ;D !

It's great exposure for the program at Binghamton and for Coach Broadus--and he deserves this---unlike football--basketball isn't a sport where your prep gets too disturbed by things like this--because you aren't worried about recruits leaving--due to early signing period, or him having to be torn--he's got a job to do for one more weekend and then he can move on to a bright future as a HC--I thank him--appreciate his effort/hard work while at GU, and there will be a stable of young, hungry Assistants wanting to come to GU to coach with III--especially if Coach Burke or Syd get the Princeton job-a HC who has been at Elite level for 3 years--is going to Final Four and has 2 assistants get HC jobs? Not too shabby wouldn't you say?
