That was painful reading, so to paraphrase: Al McGuire told Lic a story about how once he was going out, and his grandmother told him to eat a banana that was sitting around. Al declined, saying that he wasn't hungry and had to leave. Upon returning, Al was hungry, so he looked for the banana, but it wasn't there. His grandmother let him know that it was gone, and told him, "Al, if you have a banana, always eat the banana."
Moral of the story: If you have a chance in life, take it.
This relates to the Hoyas in that we have the chance to do great things in the tournament, so we should take advantage of that chance. Thus each game becomes the proverbial banana. (Although I don't see how this shouldn't apply to every game the Hoyas play)

Uh oh, Nevada. looks like your job as LIC's translator is in serious jeopardy. Bubbruub provides translation services with insight into LIC's thought processes. Now that I think about it, that second part is pretty scary...

But half the fun is figuring out Lic's message in true "lic-speak"!!! I enjoy the original. It's a pleasing challenge .

I'm so glad I read this thread before hopping on the train ... I'm going to go have a banana at Union Station. Thanks for the story Lic, and for the translation bubb!

I just sent my girlfriend a link to this thread in an attempt to explain why I needed to stop by the store and get bananas on my way to the game watch. Her only response was "weird."
