Good to hear -- saw him one time when his team played on CSTV and came away very impressed: 6'9 or so and pretty long. He showed an ability to score down low and hit from medium to long range. Also hit the boards well. I think he'd fit in very well with our style of play.

Sims has been the topic of a lot of discussion on this board already, so you can find plenty of info just by searching. That said, the book on him is that he has a similar skill set to Jeff and would appear to fit very nicely with what we do here. Others may be ranked higher than him, but some have suggested that there may be no better fit between a player's skill set and the system a team runs.

Since Kevin appears to be leaving soon, the best he can do is to get Henry "VERBALLED".

Sims is nothing like Jeff-they are completely different in terms of how they play. Sims is at least 6'10 and is a Center--with perimeter skillls--fits the mold of type of Center who played at Princeton under Carrill or III--he can pass, face up and hit jumper consistently from 18 feet, and is an improving shot blocker/back to basket player. He's gotten better each Spring/Summer and is type of player that fits this program well--unselfish, only cares about winning. Henry is more of a Center though--not really like Jeff at all--doesn't possess the quickness/ability to take you off the dribble or SF skills--that would be more of a Kris Joseph--albeit Kris is shorter then Jeff but I think DaJuan will take over the "Jeff" spot when that time comes. Joseph is more suited for SF but could slide back to play some SG or even help handle ball if needed.

Here's a chance for Broadus to leave a tangible legacy before leaving GU. Get this guy signed! I think he accomplished that one when he got Freeman. Plus Sims couldn't sign until fall, and he's probably not gonna make a decision any time soon. Supposedly Sims' game is a great for for our system. If he puts on some weight and shows that he can defend centers on the big east level, he'd be a great player for us.

Of course we already owe Broadus a debt of gratitude for what he has already accomplished. But getting Sims at least committed before he leaves would be sweeeeeet! ;D
