...how we were outcoached, outhustled, and outplayed playing the 3rd game in six days on senior night in the Carrier Dome on a short turnaround after a physical and emotional win to take the conference lead.
But then I check this board and I realize that now that this team has only won 11 of 12 instead of 12 in a row, we are deeply flawed. I'm glad to be enlightened. Come on people. I hate the Orange as much as the next guy and it's always a tough loss. But let's get real. This team was dying out there. They had no legs at all and they tried to fight through it. Jeff shot a foul line jumper in the second half that barely got to the rim. If we shoot 31% overall and 23% from three again this season, I'll eat my shoe.

Very true, but its never easy watching a team you think can make the Final Four come in tentative, then fall apart against an arch-rival. All I can say is I hope they learn something from this

Doubtless we'll see some posters we haven't seen since the Villanova loss.
The sky is not falling. This can only make the guys even hungrier.

Eat your shoe? That sounds entertaining. But I do have to say we did get out coached and it seemed like we did not have legs. But at the same time the 'Cuse just played a game, away from home, on Saturday. A tough game too. So they should have no legs either but they were able to come away with the W.
We better step it up on Saturday so we have a little momentum going into the Big East tournament.

You're going to have bad shooting nights every once in a while. Hopefully this is the last one until next season. Syracuse made the Hoyas work, and the Hoyas made increasingly poor decisions as the game wore on.
Something like this has been coming for a while now - difficulty keeping Hibbert involved, leaning on amazing work by Green, Wallace, or Sapp to bail out an otherwise lackluster offense. I like that there are different guys who can step into the gap and by doing so make a huge difference, but I think a letdown like this is has been waiting in the wings for a couple of weeks now.
No matter what, I'm proud to be a Hoya fan tonite. Grumpy, but proud. Give the nod to a good game by the hated 'Cuse and lets move forward.

We weren't outcoached, we just shot like crap. That zone is the only defense in the country we have trouble solving. If you're not shooting well, it's hard to beat.
God I hate Those guys from upstate NY.

Oh man...I almost wasn't going to come on here b/c I knew I'd see some "sky is falling" posts...not every loss is a result of being out-coached. We just got outplayed tonight. It was senior night in front of a packed house and sometime you just don't always bring the goods. It happens. End of story. The true test is how you bounce back from adversity. Thankfully this was a regular season game, not the NCAA, not even the BET...we haven't tasted our own blood in quite some time, and I won't say its good or bad, it just is a fact. We go home, we rest up and we game plan for UConn...I have no reason to believe we won't come out fired up for the home finale.

Giga, thanks for speaking my mind for me.
I hate the Cuse as much as the next guy wearing blue and gray, but tonight was not our night. Nichols could have been running out of bounds with a ferret in his pants and chucked a three over his head and it would have gone down. Meanwhile we just could not find out shots in the Dome, which is a hard place to shoot if you're not practicing there.
It's out of our system (I hope) and now we're ready to trounce UConn and clinch the title en route to making some Orange Juice at the Big East Tourney. Let's go Hoyas, learn your lesson, remember the feelings of tonight and sweep your way to three titles this March.

HoyaSAXA, we're all crying tonight. Except my wife: now that the streak is over, I'm letting her change the sheets. It desn't matter, I'll probably wet 'em having nightmares about this loss. God I hate those Orange bastards..

summers 1-10, sapp 2-11, green 3-14, hibbert only 4 attempts. this was not coaching. i think its called bad shooting (likely due to fatigue).

It sucks it was Syracuse, but we just did not have it tonight. How many times in a row can we answer the bell? We were the epitomy of flat and they were into it on their senior night and you could tell the 25K had them fired up. We needed this game, but they were still on the bubble. I am not surprised at all at this result. As long as we come out Saturday and beat down UConn in our last home game of the year, the sky is not falling.

Did you see those yahoos rush the court tonight? That's what happens when an inferior team beats an elite team.
Syracuse is a basketball irrelevancy this year. Just as they were last year. If they make the tournament so what? They're going nowhere. Even though I hate that team I'm happier with wins over Marquette, Villanova and Pitt, good teams that might do some damage in March.
The win streak is over, the pressure is off. I'm happy to be playing a very ordinary Connecticut team in our last home game with four days' rest. I like our chances. As has been mentioned elsewhere there's some work to be done- fewer turnovers, better rebounding and better use Roy on the offensive end.
Thanks Hoyas for a thrilling 1.5 months. I'm excited about what's left.

God I hate those Orange bastards.. haha, I'm the same way. Now I can wash my WAG shirt. Yes, it's true...I haven't washed it since before January 13th. I can smell it. It's kinda gross actually but, hey, superstitions are superstitions.

Put aside the annoyance of losing to a rival. This loss means very little to us - and I hope and pray we get these guys in the BET. We will tear them apart. Our guys had an off night in a very tough place to play against a team fighting for its tourney life. This just means it's time to start another win streak.

You call losing to 'Cuse an Annoyance. You should be banished from this board!!! Just kidding (mainly ). I agree with your post. (But it is hard to take losing ot them...)
