Mark Cannizzaro (sp?), the guy playing opposite the most negative man in sports, Skip Bayless, has just put the Hoyas as his 4th #1-seed on Cold Pizza. He said he bases this on expected wins for the rest of the pre-NCAA season. Obviously this means nothing, but it's pretty cool.

Probably means that he thinks we will win the BET.

Wow, I want to work for Bubbrubb's boss. You guys get to watch TV in the office?
Although, I think I'd rather watch CNN repeat the same lame-ass Anna Nicole stories than watch Cold Pizza. How has that show not been canceled yet?

Pat Forde says we probably aren't a number 1 seed, but that we are the hottest team in the country and definatley a final four contender. He then went on to praise the way Jeff Green has stepped up his game during this 11 game win streak

nope...he was asked if cannizarro was crazy for suggesting we could be a #1 seed, and he said that he probably was, but that we were still a final four contender

Even if we win out a 1 seed is still doubtful, we'll need help from some of the other teams ahead of us

All that matters is how we play, not the seed. 1 or 2 is fine. I want to be there at the end, not by the seeding.

How has that show not been canceled yet? i have some friends that work at espn. they tell me that espn has spent too much money on that show to pull the plug. also, they just don't have any other programming to put in its slot. i agree, the show is horrible.

i dont think we have a chance at a 1 just based on our numbers, unless the kansas falls off the face of the Earth...Big East Champs reg season and tourney champs arent guaranteed the #1, even if it is the same team...i would like to see some history on that over the past several years though...i would be SO happy with a #2 b/c despite the prestige that comes with a #1, they are almost always upset and a #2 or #3 make the runs in the tourney.

I think that if we continue to win, and take the B.E.T. and finish as reg season champs, it would be hard for us not to get a 1 (this conference could end up putting 8 teams in), who knows though...
I would be quite happy with a 2 as well.. the 1 seed upsets do seem to happen quite a bit, although that can be attributed to a number of problems: lack of preparation, health issues, lack of heart; none of which these Hoyas seem to have *crosses fingers*
I also think that as a 2, the road may be a tad easier (if that makes sense). As a 1 seed, your region could be stacked - and that 8/9 game is always a scary potential matchup; but as a 2 seed this year, the Hoyas will be at least as good as, and could actually be better than, the 1 seed in their region (say Wisconsin) and it would be like being a 1 anyway (the potential 2/3 matchup COULD be scary, but if we end up with Memphis as a 3, that would be a joke and I don't think they would make it there anyway).
No teams are scary enough for me to really distinguish whether there would be much of a difference between a 1 or a 2.
anyway, there is a lot of season left, but right now we are looking great and putting ourselves in a hell of a position for the tourney... we should be able to pull a top 2 seed. Bring it on.

I think we have a VERY slight chance of a #1 seed. Even if we win out our RPI upside is probably closer to #8 or so and unfortunately I think they really look at RPI for those top seeds. Depends how many Top 25 RPI and Top 50 RPI wins we get between now and the dance. We'll have a very strong Road/Nuetral record and our last 10 would obviously be strong.
I guess it would depend on who we beat along the way...
Eh, I really don't care. Just give me a Memphis or a Southern Ill. or Nevada as a team opposite us in the Sweet 16 or Final 8...that's my dream.

If we were to win out, we would be 10-2 in true road games (which is the actual stat taken into account by the committee), and 13-2 in road/neutral games, both of which would be at or near the top among 1-4 seed contenders. If we're sitting on a 27-5 record, with a 16-game streak, 23-of-25, with an RPI of eight, as well as 8 or more wins, we'd have more than a slight chance at a 1-seed.
