Just wanted to give Mack a little shout out! He gave us some good minutes in the first half when Jeff and Roy were in some foul trouble. A nice bucket, a couple of boards and some nice D!

I knew Vernon was really starting to come around when MsBuffaloHoya (who's been a Hoya fan for only a couple months... or else) remarked, "that skinny kid has really played well recently."
The development of G'Town's youngsters this season has been a pleasure to watch. For some it has been quick (Summers), for others a bit slower (Rivers, Macklin), but for all the strides they've made are clear. Can't wait to see the contributions these guys make in the future!

JTIII seems to have a new strategy for keeping Roy out of foul trouble. Did anyone notice that near the end of the first half Vernon would sub in for Roy when we were on defense and if the defensive play ended in a dead ball, Roy would go back in for offense, and when an offensive play ended with a dead ball, Vern would be back in. Interesting, it worked though

When Macklin entered the game in the first half, I thought Gray looked a little relieved at first. But Macklin's athleticism and energy on defense frustrated him. Macklin's minutes were very important.

Macklin is much more offeinsively skilled than I think a lot of people give him credit for.
Can't wait to see what he'll bring to the table once he gets the opportunity to play extended minutes.

I think Vernon's great, but he definitely needs some more work on the defensive end. He hustles, but never seems to get good defensive position. I think JTIII recognizes that current weakness, as he had PE Jr guarding Grey a lot more when Roy was out than Vernon. He's a great athlete and his quickness will really change our offense when Roy eventually leaves.

He had a ridiculous rebound early in the game -- I had always heard he was uber-athletic but hadn't seen a lot of obscene plays but he got amazingly high on this board... plus his move around Gray then O board and putback was great.

Hoya Saxa!! that is the true sign of a superior coaching staff. not only in terms of Xs and O's, but recognizing what players to target in their recruiting efforts
