AWESOME. That's 2 years in a row we've been represented. Congrats Austin and Chris. Very well deserved and we're definitely excited to see you both in blue and gray!

Fantastic! We'll get to see Austin and Chris in McDonald's Game and the Jordan Game--and it's quite an honor for Chris considering he had to work his butt off to get past the politics that often reward guys for Summer Camp performances.
As a sidenote, there is NO reason Taylor King should be on this team--he's regressed as a player is nowhere near the caliber of player that should make this team--but we all know WHY he made it and I'll leave it at that. Hint for those who don't know--same reason Lee Melchioni made the team.

Does a McDonald's All-American game still get played in DC, since Jordon took the game up to NYC?

When was the last time we had 2 McD's AA in the same year? How about back to back year's with McD AA? Or a coach that averaged a McD AA per class? ;D

This is huge. How quickly JTIII can turn a perceived weakness, ie our depth in the back-court, into perhaps our biggest strength. Talk about good, diligent and tenacious recruiting!
Our back-court next year will feature:
Seniors Jon "Dubya" Wallace Shooting 52.3% from the floor, 47.9% from beyond the arc and 88.7% from the line...Wallace is a sniper. Not only is he the most cerebral guard we've had at GU in a long time, but he absolutely kills people from behind the arc and has developed a signature dagger move...the five foot teardrop finger roll. At the end of his term at GU, students will be begging for four more years of Dubs.
Tyler "Bam Bam" Crawford While his stats don't jump off the page, he is the proverbial glue that holds this team together. I have no doubt, based on the comments of all players and coaches that our team would not be where it is today without the hardnosed, dedicated and driven nature of Mr. Tyler Crawford. When in the game, he always makes the most of his minutes, whether it is burying threes, cutting to the backdoor or grabbing rebounds. As an illustration, according to Ken Pomeroy, Tyler grabs an astonishing 19.5% of all possible defensive rebounds when he is on the court. That means, when he is on the court, he grabs the board for nearly 20% of all missed shots by opponents. That is greater than anyone on the team. Truly an inspirational player to his teammates.
Juniors "The Emergent" Jesse Sapp Has any player developed more this year than Sapp? I'd argue that the confident, stone cold killer attitude he has developed over the last 12 games has been the difference. He has become the fleet footed, dazzling slasher we always knew he could become.
Sophmores Jeremiah "Baby Doc" Rivers While he had a slow start to the season due to injury and what appeared to be a lack of confidence, Jeremiah has drastically improved in the last 5 games. He is consistently one of the better guards breaking the press, is an absolute ball-hawk on defense with an uncanny sense of passing lanes and angles, can take most defenders off the dribble allowing him to create his own shot and (shockingly enough) has even managed to find his shot in the last couple games! If that shot developes over the next few seasons (remember Sapp was not a particularly accurate 3pt shooter when he arrived...but is now knocking down almost 40%) he will be a very valuable part of what looks to be the birth of a dynasty.
Freshmen Austin Freeman & Chris Wright Both guys are absolute studs who are capable of scoring from anywhere on the court at any time. Having watched tapes of them, I can honestly say that if we ran a lineup of Wright at PG, Freeman at SG, Summers at SF, Green at PF and Macklin/Ewing at C...it would be the most athletically explosive lineup in the country. When was the last time you could say that about Georgetown. If these two can learn the offensive under the tutelage of Wallace, Sapp, Rivers and Tyler...they will definitely have us contending for titles for years to come.
