Andy Katz is reporting that Gray is questionable for the game on Saturday. Pitt coach Jamie Dixon said he's not sure if center Aaron Gray will play Saturday at Georgetown. He said Gray's sprained left ankle, injured during the final minute of the win over Washington last Saturday that kept him out of Monday's win at Seton Hall, is still discolored.
"The swelling didn't go down that much," Dixon said Tuesday. "They were still telling me Sunday he would play Monday but I wasn't so sure. I am worried about Saturday." insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?name=katz_andy

Just gamemanship. Dixon is just setting it up so even if he plays he can blame the injury on the loss.
Classic move trying to lower expectations. Frankly if he doesn't play I'd be stunned...
No big deal either way.

Gray could be 100% and Dixon would STILL be "worried about Saturday". Gray is playing for sure----and I HOPE someone shows Hibbert and Green a tape of the last game when Gray would score and prance down court with a "they can't stop me" smirking look on his face. At this point, 100% of Gray = about 80% of Hibbert anyways, so it won't matter much if Gray is less than 100% on Saturday. I have visions of Hibbert and BIG JEFF sewing up co POY in the BEAST regardless.... You can hear it in teams who have played both players and teams (Pitt and GU)---they imply that we are BETTER, but don't wanna come out and just say it since they could still run into pitt.

Last game it seemed like Gray dominated Hibbert. This is a true battle of the big men so Hibbert better step it up to show everyone that he is the best center in the league.

I'm OK with Gray being called the best center in the league as long as the Hoyas are the best TEAM in the league. No way Gray doesn't play.

If he can't go for Saturday, I'm looking forward to saying "No Play for Mr. Gray" several times during the game.

Lately, Roy has been very aggressive at the beginning of games trying to establish position. Some of our opponents (Marquette did it best, I believe) have anticipated this and try to draw charges off Roy. So, though I would love for Gray to have Roy's footprint on his face, I'd rather have Roy stay in control and dominate the game with his superior skills and patience. We cannot risk Roy getting into foul trouble again. Our opponents are quite aware the only way to really stop Roy is to keep him on the bench.

Gray would have to be on his deathbed to miss this game.
The real question is if he'll be 100%. If not that could give us an advantage.

There has been some speculation on Pitt boards that if Gray's injury is severe enough they might leave Gray out (essentially forfieting the regular season title) so that he can heal and get Pitt past the sweet 16 for once.

Flu, ankle, fatigue.
If Stuart, oops Aaron, Gray doesn't play on Saturday, he should turn in his jock for a thong and join the girls team.

He'll play. And Roy will show him what it means to stand 7 feet 2 inches off the ground: he'll WISH his ankle was still shot.
