I don't really see any parallels with the USF game from last year. South Florida played us very close at the Phone Booth, too. They had senior leadership and an athletic big man to counter Roy on the inside. Their defense was excellent, with a Villanova-like game plan that took us out of our offensive rhythm. That's not to say that USF wasn't God-awful and that the Hoyas didn't need to have a collective Bad Brandon mental day to lose, but it wasn't exactly impossible to see coming.
Cincy, on the other hand, played no defense at the Phone Booth and stayed in the game only because of unconscious 3-pt shooting. This is a team with no size and no identity. Roy goes for a vengeful 22-11-4, Wallace breaks out of his mini-slump, and Summers throws down a monster backdoor dunk. Hoyas by 17.
By the way, are Bear Cats tougher than Panthers? In SFS, they never taught us about these animals.

As long as the team isn't looking forward to Saturday, they should be fine. Cincinatti cannot compete with us... It blows my mind how many people cannot spell the name of my hometown, especially when it is spelled correctly in the thread title. Please people, 3 n's, 1 t!

Teams that are 1-11 in the BE don't deserve to be spelled properly. But teams with more national championships than us do. Hoyatalk even has spell checking that tells you it's wrong.

Cinci's a fine town- I'll be there to root on our Hoyas against the Bearkittens.
Hey, any town that stays loyal to the Bengals thru 15 bad years (I'm a Bengals fan too) has something to say for it.

My Comcast says SNY for the game on Wednesday. Those seem to change, but right now in the NYC area it looks like SNY.

Not in my lifetime. And I'm not writing a paper here. Just chill. Anyways, I'm psyched to hear the game will be on SNY, considering how finding a TV with MASN is such a pain in these parts.

Not in my lifetime. And I'm not writing a paper here. Just chill. A lot of things haven't occurred in your lifetime, that doesn't change the fact that they happened. We jump all over Lic for his questionable punctuation, so why should this be any different. A quick use of search shows it to be the 16th time you misspelled the name this year. I was just commenting to be funny (because the search also showed it misspelled by 4 other posters this year). Time to learn to spell, we will play them at least once a year for the foreseeable future.

I always thought it was odd that we DIDN'T get on lic for his impossible-to-read posts.

Cinnncinnatttti is simply too small to win this game. Cinncy brought the best game they could muster at Verizon and that wasn't enough. Roy, Jeff, Jonathan, Dajuan and Hibbs are simply too much. Agree with other posters: hope bench gets some serious run so are starters can avoid injury and come fresh on Saturday.

Like everyone has already said....DON"T LOOK PAST EM. Cinncinnattii was hot shooting the 3 last time we played. This makes them a definate threat to keep it close. I think we should be able to score easily in the paint, but we have to actually pass it in to get the looks. Blow it open early and put it on cruise control. GO HOYAS...Beat the Bears, Kick the Cats

There are some obvious parallels to last year's second USF game - the less than stellar conference record, last place in the conference, playing them on the road... but the USF game at home last year was way too close for comfort, whereas this year we did a great job against Cincy at home, not really letting them get too close ever. Also, Cincy has only had a few really close conference games, while last year USF played more teams much more closely (among them us and Villanova). I definitely don't think we can "look past" this game though - its a BE road game, meaning its important, and one that we probably "need" to win more than the Pitt game Saturday. I think if we can defend against their 3 ball we should be fine, not overly worried but like others have said, definitely not one to overlook.

CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDERS don't overlook anyone--they are out to prove a point and win--because that is all that matters. This team knows what is ahead of them and Cincy is next game in line--any letdown is not allowed if you truly are going to consider yourself a big time program and I believe it's about building off the momentum/excellent play and keep focusing on improving--let's go fellas--get it done.
