How hard would it be for non-students/alumni to get tickets to the game?

Not very hard. Because so many people leave after their teams lose, there are lots of tickets floating around. Just my experience.

... We will have improved one tourney round each year over the past four years. I think it's an interesting stat, and it's actually what I kind of expected to see when I read the title of the thread - sorry if a little off topic.

Depends on the opponent as well - if it's UCONN, Cuse or St. John's (all unlikely), tickets go a lot quicker. If it's Pitt or West Virginia or Marquette or Lousiville playing the Hoyas, I'd be surprised if the game draws 15,000 fans.
