ndnation.com/boards/showpost.php?b=thepit;pid=57904;d=thisIsn't it a little sad that this manure still floats around the boards? I spoke briefly with JG this weekend and he seemed bright and was very engaging. I also saw him shaking hands and saying goodbye to many alumnae and wives of alumni. He was extremely cordial and patient. Great to see gentlemen like that on our team. (Yes, this is my way of trying to deflect attention from the waste-o-time PEJr-Beilein discussion. I leave the disciplining up to III, who seems to know what he is doing with the team.)

I'm not one to defend ND, but in fairness this does seem to be an isolated post. For the rest of that thread, the Domers (haha, dome) are basically slurping our team and admitting that III is light years ahead of Brey. It's pretty clear to pretty much all CBB fans that Jeff carries himself better than any other player in the NCAA. He's classy (a word that is thrown around too often, but is 100% deserved in his case), conscientious, and smart on the court...which is where it matters.

I think it's particularly funny that they are posting that when they have ongoing problems with their players this year...

That's a myth perpetuated by Maryland fans who are bitter that they tried to wait for Rudy Gay and in the process lost Jeff. Sour grapes. They bring it up all the time though.

Barker needs to write a story and put this myth to bed. Bitter terp fans have managed to spread this nonsense far and wide in the college hoops world. I'm pretty sure the truth is that JG wasn't recruited that hard by anyone early in his HS career. After he verballed to us, he exploded with a great senior season. Gary Williams, as usual, dropped the recruitment ball, and he landed in our lap. Huge mistake by him since, given the state of the programs at the time (them not far removed from an NCAA title, us stuck with Esherick), Jeff may well have chosen UMD over us.

That assertion makes no sense on many levels.

I'd say they have more important issues to deal with
1. Their FB coach might die if he keeps eating as much as he has after the Gastro-Bypass surgery--and I'm not being a smart aleck here--if you look at Weis from 2 years ago and what he looks like today--he's putting his life at risk with a simple lack of discipline and not being able to put a friggin fork down.
2. They have McClarney situation to talk about in terms of character, lack of it, and "intelligence".
3. They have to stock up on Men's Fashion magazines to see where to get Mike Brey some new Mock Turtlenecks.
Jeff Green is the perfect example of what a student/athlete should be-he's a smart kid, good kid, and great athlete. I just think it's some sour grapes from a fan who is mad that they can't do anything as cool as "J-E-F-F, JEFF, JEFF, JEFF" and they wish they were with Jeff Green's mom, cause she's got it going on! ;D

I spoke with Jeff at the gala and got a picture taken with him. He could not have been nicer to me - a random fan just looking to talk for a few minutes. Let them be bitter.

As member of team Jeff for that glorious Marquette game, I hope that it can eventually reach Roy's Eye of the Tiger prominance. For all these whiny Domers and Twerps, ignore them, watch instead ESPN's "Sweetest Plays" and you'll see both Jeff's over the back layup and his tip in jam

Eh, just leave the Domers alone so they can go work on finishing off their 27-1 regular season.
Oh, right.

Especially considering Northeastern HS is on the border of the town of College Park...the guy could have walked there on the way to the liquor store no sweat....

Not a battle worth fighting.
If Jeff couldn't cut it at Georgetown, he would be gone.

That "genius" of a coach, whose team got embarrassed by LSU, reminds me of Humpty Dumpty. ;D I hate ND football, and enjoy watching Jeff wipe the floor with 'em in basketball.

Once again, Lic has cleared up everything for us. And both Jeff & Roy were great at the Gala, taking time to talk to and take a picture with my 15 yr old son. The team in general looked very comfortable in that setting. Nice young men.
