I was curious to see if Temple has played yet and I saw they play tomorrow night. This allowed me to look at their schedule. They have the type of preseason schedule that we should aspire to having. Auburn, G'town, Princeton, South Carolina........
I know they have always had one of the tougher pre-season schedules, but they play all major D1 schools with their biggest cupcake being Princeton (based on conference not play obviously).

I would disagree slightly about aiming for that schedule in particular. Temple has always had that scheduling philosophy, and while it helps (somewhat) in their preparation for conference play, it also beats down the team psyche quite a bit before the A-10 season starts.
I would like to see a preseason sched that mixes in 3 cupcakes with about 8 solid teams (5 top 100, and 3 in the 100-200 range). This would be the ideal, RPI-wise, and it would allow for a slight easing-up during final exams, as G'town is generally prone to do.
An ideal pre-conference schedule for me would be something like this...
UMd UVa Michigan UCLA (or another Pac-10 team) UK/KU/Texas/Florida (major conference favorite)
GW UNLV (or some WAC team) Boston College (for the traitor factor)
George Mason Howard Tulane (or some mid-to-decent C-USA team)

One thing to remember about Temple is that the A - 10 is not nearly as good as the Big East. Playing teams like LaSalle, UMass, and Richmond are not going to help their RPI, so they go out and get the good games by hitting the road early in the year.
The thing about Georgetown is that we are going to play 2 or 3 premium teams each year, some of them twice. We have our chances to get big wins in conference and they do not.
This is by no means a defense of our schedule stuffers, but I just wanted to point out why Temple is on the extreme end of scheduling.

THB,
Put American and/or VCU on your schedule suggestion too. The more local teams, the better...at least recruiting wise.

And the Bison always come to play against GU. GMason and Tulane are not cupcakes.
