Did anyone notice how Georgetown basically put this game away right after the rival reel (featuring Jack taking down an eagle with a shotgun)?
Georgetown's athletic department takes many shots (I was unimpressed with the relatively pedestrian best players celebration), but this idea has truly been knocked out of the park.

As per the marquette discussion thread: I was Jack the bull dog. It wasn't my idea but I'd like to take a little credit for it's success. hopefully the one i'm in for the WV game will have the same effect. especially since i can't make the game myself.

I was extremely happy when I found out that this idea was being carried out. As almost anyone who attends the things will tell you, easily the best part of any Army/Navy football game is the spirit videos the two sides make belittling their opponents. Student creativity is a wonderful thing.

The Marquette fans up in the 400 level were cheering at the beginning and were truly puzzled by the ending. Of course, there was a GW fan in his Colonial Army shirt on in 411 sitting with two of his friends in Marquette student shirts.

Hey that's nice...the Colonial Army guy coming to celebrate the One-Year Anniversary of the WG kids showing up at Verizon (2/9/06). Big anniversaries all around! Wonder how his team did last night? Ohhhhh.... sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/boxscore?gid=200702100227Now as for the Rival Reels, I think they're great. I'm a big fan of anything promotion at games that involves students, especially if it's something like this that allows them to be creative. Actually what I've been impressed with so far is they've all had just the right quality of production value...in the sweet spot between Citizen Kane and One Night In Paris. If there were an uncensored/unlicensed page for the WVU tapes, it might be the greatest thing ever.

This series of Rival Reels is great- genious. They have been clever and a real add to the experience at the games.

Here's the GW guy's pic: flickr.com/photos/jeffq/386265691/in/pool-guhoyas100/He and his Marquette buddies left when the first exodus of the MU fans left (granted, the most obnoxious ones stayed until the end on the baseline in the 400 level stayed until the end.) I had words to say to him as he went under the portal (I was in row H on one side of the portal.)

I'd like to apologize for tonights rival real. The idea was to imitate Jiggles the man who danced to Hawaii 5-0. Unfortunately i don't think the reel gt this a cross and i think there was a lot of good footage left out. Oh well.

The idea was a good one... but unfortunately, almost none of the students had any idea was it was referencing. To be fair, neither did I, but that's where the delightful old men I sit with come in handy (thanks guys). Once it was explained, it was hilarious. But kind of a stretch.

Huh? Who is Jiggles the guy who dances to Hawaii 5-0. This is obscure and a huge waste of a good opportunity to ridicule West Virginia. I mean seriously, it is not like there is a dearth of material to ridicule west virginia.

This was terrible. The Deliverance possibilities abounded, and we blew it.
