I think he's fine, I guess JTIII just isnt as confident in his ballhandling as he is with Rivers, which is a shame, because Rivers is a horrific shooter. I cringe every time a team gives him room to chuck one up.

I'm happy when he shoots, because our offensive rebounding numbers go UP ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) - Really, I like the current 8 man rotation (with a reserve coming in at each of the spots when necessary). BTW, anybody ELSE think we'd be AT LEAST 7-1, and possibly 8-0 if Edge could've played for another week?

Rivers plays some excellent defense--he really gets after it and he isn't a bad rebounder either. Everyone has a role and the way they were shooting-seeing Rivers come in and close out on shooters and give more pressure on ball was great. Tyler knows his role on this team--he'll be ready if called upon and every player in every sport have a window of opportunity to make a mark/play--if they stick it out. Someone will transfer, get sick, get hurt, go Pro, etc....and it's what you do with it. Tyler got sick when he was going to get heavy minutes and now he's going to be a rotation guy--and provide the spark when needed--he's a leader and will do his part, but team is playing really well and nobody is going to complain if you are getting results.

BTW, anybody ELSE think we'd be AT LEAST 7-1, and possibly 8-0 if Edge could've played for another week? No. This team has more than enough depth without Edge. He was a role player at best and the development we've gotten out of other guys has helped us through (and will help us in the long run).

I know one thing: I'd take Ewing on my NBA team any day. He can be like a pippen on a, let's say, dwayne wade team...

Tyler Crawford = New England Patriots special teams wizard Larry Izzo.
Tyler doesn't care about Tyler, Tyler cares about the Georgetown Hoyas. And he'll do the things to make the team successful -- whether it's a spark off the bench in a game, playing tough in practice, or kicking butts in the weight room (something that will be clutch for Macklin especially this summer).
I'm not worried about him at all, and I know that Coach has tremendous respect for his work-ethic and what he brings to the team (hence Tyler as co-captain). I'll worry about Tyler's minutes when there's some sign that he's worried about them, which there hasn't been any indication of to this point.

is a player really going to make it known that he's worried about his minutes?

His minutes will only continue to decline next yr. It may be time to consider................ I hope to heck I am misreading your last sentence. There is absolutely no way in the world that Tyler will not be a Hoya next season - and no way that this team would be anywhere near as successful without him. To a man, the team - and the staff - have the utmost respect and admiration for Tyler, his leadership and his dedication. As I said a couple of days ago, and as is echoed elsewhere in this thread, I will worry about his minutes when he does - which will be never. I believe that Tyler is confident that JTIII knows exactly when we need the things that Tyler brings to a game, and uses him whenever those moments occur. He is a huge credit to the program, and the kind of guy that EVERY team needs, but few have.

yes - it happens all the time! It's called the NBA. Players who choose to be coached by a true teacher of the game who utilizes what can hardly be described as a showy offense are not the type of players who would then publicly complain about minutes. There is a lot of self-selection in the process.

It wouldn't surprise me if we see Tyler as a hs coach and then college coach in the near future. He's a leader and motivator without playing. That's great.

The people on this board are the only ones concerned about Crawfords minutes...no one is talking about this....we're 12-2 in our last fourteen games...won 5 BE games in a row largely in blowouts...the rotation (and morale) on this team is fine...we've seen nothing (nothing!) to refute this...let's not create turmoil where there is none...

I totally agree...if it aint broke...
I love that we have a guy like Tyler on the third team if we need him. But the guys who are getting his minutes are doing just fine.

I wouldn't call myself worried (how can you worried when Tyler isn't getting to play because of the job getting done in front of him) but I'd say I am disappointed for him because he is such a positive influence on the team and school overall you'd like to see him hit a big shot in crunch time and get the recognition.

I think Tyler is just fine. He is a very good player who earned a scholarship to Georgetown and is on track to get a degree from one of the top universties in the country. The only two sure NBA locks on this team are Jeff and Roy. He knows that his chances of going to the NBA at his size 6'3" would only be at point guard and he knows his handle is no where near the level for that. Tyler can shoot, play defense and rebound for his size. The only detriment is his confidence in his handle. If over the summer he improves his handle, I would disagree with those who say his minutes would decrease with the addition of Wright and Freeman. I think his playing time would increase. The lack of a good handle that can withstand pressure is the only thing that is holding his minutes down. JT3 has to develope Rivers as a ballhandler off the bench for the BET and the NCAA's.
