We kicked some butt tonight. No more(hopefully from here on out) playing down to the competition.

The Hoyas were due for a letdown, I thought. Glad it happened in the first half, and even gladder it happened against a pretty weak team. Great comeback, though.
Keep the momentum going. Louisville at home is going to be tougher than SJU.

If Hamilton wouldn't have gotten in foul trouble it might have been a little different game. What a great run to close out the half and keep it going into the second. When this team flows it's awesome when we don't things are ugly. Win pretty, win Ugly...I don't care...Just win. Let's keep it rolling, now we'll find out what this team is made off. Can we win the close ones? Who cares if we just keep blowing teams out!!!! Go Hoyas...rock the cardinals

Anyone noticed how often we've broken the spirits of opponents this season? Vandy, Michigan, Notre Dame, Depaul, the entire state of New Jersey, tonight. I don't think it's just a function of getting a big lead, but a combination of how demoralizing the back-door cut is, what a pain Roy is to battle in the second half (often when he's been rested in the first), and how insurmountable leads seem against our slow paced offense. Teams do seem to quit against us, but I think it's a credit to what we are.

The turnaround in this game was unreal - a 54 to 20 run to close the game. ESPN's scoring chart really tells the tale: sports.espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=270322599They did a great job limiting turnovers after a scary first few minutes.

Didn't get to watch it but noticed on the boxscore that we had 17 TOs. Was this mostly in the first half? Was it just sloppy ball? Any info would be appreciated.
Great win and glad to see the fellas maintain their confidence.
Oh yeah, and Sead's 3.

We basically just saw our entire season up until now in one game.
The first 18 minutes were like a bad flashback to the beginning of the season. With 2:03 left in the first half we suddenly switched to the new and improved Hoyas. The ESPN game flow shows the story pretty clearly.
Best moment of the game: Sead nailing the 3.
Honorable mention: Last shot of the first half. "NO JESSIE! NO JESSIE! NO JESSIE! YES!"

Great game and win tonight. It seems we keep having teams shoot out of their minds to start games recently. Sure some is defense to start, but if you saw the bounces the Johnnies were getting much of the first half, it definitely wasn't all defense. I've never seen so many balls rattle around and out of the rim only to bang off the backboard and go back in!!
I could just feel that run was going to happen at some point.......It was a good feeling, even down by 10, to feel like we were going to win the game. That run to end the second half was great, but then to be able to sustain it through pretty much the whole second half was amazing.
What a great game by Jeff......he is so fun to watch when he is really on his game. Another super game for Wallace too. He always seems to come up big when we need that shot in the arm. His and Sapp's three's at the end of the 1st were really huge.
Now, the "easy" part of our schedule is done. We came through the way we needed to.......undefeated and with some very convincing wins. Hopefully Filo is right and that 1st half was our letdown.......I'm sure we'll have a few more along the way, but if we can limit them as we did tonight and bounce back like we did tonight, we should be in every game from here on out. These next 4 games are going to be VERY tough.

Despite the slow first half, what an explosion to beat SJU in the 2nd half, in blowout fashion.
Georgetown is catching fire right now, keep it up Hoyas!
GO HOYAS!

I think Sapp is underrated...
Wallace and Jesse should continue taking it to the hole...at worse, they'll get fouled and go to the line...
Gotta be strong down there, Roy!!! Stop bringing that ball down.
Very proud of the way the guards are playing.

Honorable mention: Last shot of the first half. "NO JESSIE! NO JESSIE! NO JESSIE! YES!" Yeah, Wallace was wide open on that play, too. I broke off my "NOOOOOOO" midway through.

Really wasn't bothered by SJU's shooting percentage--they take stupid shots and some were falling and by gift of bounce--which will not happen all game and if it does, you tip your hat to them and move on. I was very angry about sloppy ball handling and passing early in game--but it led to something I've waited to see from a Hoya team for a long time--and never under III-these guys played with an EDGE/CHIP on their shoulder and took a 10 point hole into a 24 point win. It wasn't how Jeff played--it was how he played and behaved on the court--and we NEED that. From Wallace acting like a little pitbull out there, to Jessie getting on Roy for not dunking a ball that should've been thrown down, to Macklin not allowing a dunk/layup on that last drive to hole from SJU player--that is what it's going to take to win any championship and I LOVED the ATTITUDE! It's about damn time this program got after it with a chip on their shoulder again. I don't care who you play--you have to bring your intensity and game to a higher level and play with some swagger. We're just as good as anyone out there--that was proven last year in NCAA's when we gave the Champs the only game they had all tournament. We've got a player capable of putting us on his back and at same time making game easier for other players--Jeff Green plays like he did tonight in terms of approach/attitude and he can carry this team. Notice how they all followed and with Sapp running point and Wallace at 2G, I like the offense ten times more. Sapp can take guards one on one and Wallace is better off the ball when he doesn't have to create a shot.
Roy has got to work on his lower body strength-and Majerus pointed it out tonight--I've said this since he was a FR. You can't work any harder then what Roy has, but he can get his legs stronger and carry those gnats with him to the rim and THROW IT DOWN!!!!!!!!
As for the performance--playing SJU at the Garden isn't easy and was proud of how the team closed the Half and fought through the bad stretch of ball to start game--well outside of Jeff who kept team in game. Thought Dajuan's 3 really was huge to get lead down to 7 and get someone else involved--then Wallace and Sapp came up with some shots/plays. Wallace at beginning of 2nd Half was just a pitbull and loved every damn minute of it and him yelling at guys to get going and focus on who they had on defense. Jeff HAS to play like this EVERY GAME--attitude wise and aggression. That was beautiful ball to watch and he does this--we can beat/play with anyone. If he floats--we're in trouble and will fall short. The time is now to step it up--February was Pops month to get team primed for BE, BET, and NCAA runs and no better way to start--now keep it going and build off it.

Sapp is underrated. if only he'd slow down and make stuff look easier, then he wouldn't be. but he seems to work so aggressively that he seems underrated...but i definitely see that NY flair....

I was at the game last night and we were pretty awesome for the last 22 minutes. Unreal.
Easily my favorite part of the game though was near the end with us up by 20 someone threw the ball away...kind of a no big deal moment after the huge run....and JTIII wents NUTS. It looked like his head was going to explode.
It was like he wanted his team to step it up at all times and play perfect. That halftime speech must have been pretty darn good.
It was a weird moment like he was saying "if we're going to win the whole thing then we need to tighten up now".
Overall just a fun experience. TONS of Hoyas in the crowd and a real blast.
I'm starting to get a little frisky about this team....the rotation is set...everyone knows their roles...starting to get Editeded...I like it.

I think my favorite part of the game was when Majerus referred to Wallace as the best shooter in the Big East. Two things occured to me: (1) he's probably right, and (2) Georgetown hasn't been able to boast the best shooter in the conference since Reggie Williams.

The big question - did the players and the coaches hug at the end?
