For those who do not regularly visit the front page, here is the link to the writeups of two GREAT players. I actually feel sorry for those too young (or too old) to have witnessed these wonderful Hoyas. They were simply outstanding. Sleepy is my alltime favorite Hoya. He could do it all. I was hooked after he dropped 28 on the Twerps his freshman year. www.hoyabasketball.com/features/top100.htm

My first glimpse of Sleepy and the Hoyas was the National Championship game.
My cousin to this day believes that if Fred Brown wouldn't have had a brain-fart, Sleepy was going to win that game.

I have refused to watch the last few seconds of that game whenever it has appeared on Classic. But if I recall correctly, he was open on the baseline...

He was open on the baseline with a clear lane to the hoop. He would have scored.

Sleepy should have stuck to track. I remember seeing Sleepy leading the Hoyas to a victory over UNLV in a game that closed the LV Convention Center as a venue for UNLV. "The LV Convention Center basketball arena is officially closed." ;D

Sleepy's 29 at the Palestra in '82 was one of the best performances I've ever seen.
What could he have scored in 3 pt era?

I became interested in Georgetown basketball largely because of watching Sleepy play in the year or two before Patrick. He was incredible. I was kinda hoping he would get #2 on that list, which is silly of me I know, but I want him to get the love.
He dropped 50 on somebody in the NBA once, too, as I recall.

I was thinking of this the other day: does Durant remind anyone else of a taller Reggie? That effortless fluid shot he has from deep -- even when shooting off the dribble -- strikes me as Reggie-esque. But maybe I am misremembering Reggie whose career was just at the cusp of my starting to follow the Hoyas really closely.
