According to Pomeroy, Big Roy: Offensive Rating: 132.1 (6) Effective FG%: 71.0% (3)* Offensive Rebounding %: 13.3% (74) Block %: 12.9 (14)** kenpom.com/sr.php?team=GeorgetownCan you believe this is the same player we saw stumbling down the court in high school? His development has been nothing short of spectacular. Shows you what hard work, dedication and desire can do. * NOTE: This is especially incredible, because the eFG% is weighted to give three point shooters a boost. Here is the description of the stat from Pomeroy: "Same as regular field goal percentage, except that made three-pointers are appropriately given 50% more credit...It’s mostly players that shoot a lot of threes and shoot them well, but there are some post players that sneak in also." **NOTE: Block % is literally the % of all two-point shots that Roy blocks in a game while he is on the court. Here is the definition: "This is the percentage of opponents’ two-point shots that are blocked by the player while he is on the court. It is computed by Blocks/(%Min * Opponents’ two-point attempts). Anything greater than 8% is very good."

From that same link, we are the most efficient shooting team in terms of two-point FG%.

I think there is a website that actually looks at the play-by-play data for the NBA (www.82games.com ?), and I know that this sort of thing is done for MLB.

One interesting thing from the breakdown is that our Assist % is 114th in the nation. Wouldn't one expect this to be higher considering our sharing-intensive O?

No. Not sure if you've been reading the board lately. Our guards are selfish. To combat this, Roy has started inbounding the ball to himself, breaking the press, and driving to the basket.

Roy's to do list:
1. Eat 5 guys in front of him in the stats. 2. Eat 5 starters for St. Johns

Isn't KenPom saying he is the 6th most efficient offensive player? That is much different than the sixth best. The best offensive players find ways to create their own shots and do a better job of getting the ball. I'm a big fan of Roy's, but 6th best player he is not.

You're right Bahstin. 6th best he is not.
He is the best. Good correction.
So, just so we are all clear. Roy = #1.
Glad that is settled.
