This is all nice, but why do we care? In 2.5 years, Crawford hasn't gotten nearly enough PT to warrant an emotional attachment from anyone. If he wasn't getting time last season with a 7 man rotation, maybe he just isn't that good? I want Thompson giving us the best chance to win. If that means Ewing has 20 mpg and TC has none, so be it.
Where exactly is all this coming from?

He's our captain, a true gentleman, and along with PE the only vocal leader of the team. DaJuan is vocal, but not yet a leader as a Freshman. Tyler's presence on the floor helps us WHEN WE NEED HIM. Also, I for one KNOW that he can hit an open 3, even if the first game of the season was not a good indicator of that.

I hear you, and I'm not trying to bad mouth him. I'm sure he's a great guy. But I don't have enough invested in him emotionally to care about his minutes, and I'm surprised so many do.

Where exactly is all this coming from? I know that my connection comes from a few areas. First, he's a junior on the team (therefore we've seen him for three years) and a leader. Second, JTIII respects him A LOT and ensures that the fans/public know this...I'm willing to take a cue from III and root for Tyler. Third, when we've seen him in situations where we need that stabilizing force, he's filled his role very nicely...and remember, even though this team has grown through the season, earlier we needed that type of force in spades, which was one reason his illness was so bad for the team when it hit...we've made 11 TO's in the last two games, but turnovers and sloppy play was a HUGE problem earlier in the season, which put a premium on leadership and stability. The final, and most important, reason I feel the need to support TC is (drum roll please)...he's a freaking HOYA!

Nice post, Bubbrubb.................
As for being emotionally invested 2-Oh....................I'm guessing you never cheered for Rhese in his 4 years? He may have played less as a captain than Tyler.

I root for Tyler but don't worry about his lack of minutes. We're playing great. It ain't broke -- let's not fix it.

I love to see what Tyler gives us when he's in - but I'll start worrying about Tyler's minutes when Tyler starts worrying about his minutes, which I suspect will be never. He is a class act and a great leader, no matter how much he is on the floor.

Where exactly is all this coming from? Dude, where its coming from is simple. If youve seen any of the games where he has played this year, you see him contribute and do great things in his short stint in the game, and then he gets pulled and doesnt see the court again. Ewing and JRivers were making TONS of mistakes in their limited time early in the year, yet JT3 kept playing them and now they are much better and more confident. Tyler on the other hand played well in his limited minutes and seems to actually be getting LESS minutes because of it. Superficially one would think that JT3 is rewarding Tyler for playing well by not playing him as much (because he knows he'll be ready if he ever needs him). And he's playing Ewing and JR more because they need more PT to improve... Its also coming from the fact that 3 himself says that Tyler is instrumental to this team. Plus the fact (like i said before) that he had a great Kenner League and actually started at the beginning of this year before getting sick.
