I'd probably switch Alonzo and Sleepy, but otherwise, I agree.

5. John Duren 4. Reggie Williams 3. Alonzo Mourning 2. Eric Floyd 1. Patrick Ewing
N.B. the Elvado rankings do not contain those who did not stay 4 years at GU. As is well known to those on the board, such players are in fact dead to me and do not merit consideration.

I think I would put Reggie in the #2 spot. His senior year was beyond special.

I think CD has it right, though I admit that I am biased because Floyd is my alltime favorite Hoya.

Its easy to predict what the order will be:
5-AI 4-Zo 3-Reggie 2-Sleepy 1-Ewing
If there is an upset it will be AI going up to #4. But even though Zo had what are considered substandard soph and junior seasons (partly due to injury) I can't see DFW and Co putting Iverson above a four year player who ended up an All American to boot.

I really like the way the final rankings are going. Predictable, but so very accurate to have Reggie, Sleepy and Patrick as the top 3 Hoyas of all-time. Those guys were truly awesome.
Great job, DFW.

I love the list and have appreciated all the wor put into it. But I question some of the fact checking. I was never aware that Zo had two tripple doubles while at GU. I wasn't aware he had even one. Are we sure about that?

the zo write up mentions him providing scoring his freshman year along side smith and tillmon. tillmon came off the bench that year and only averaged 8 pts. bryant, smith, jackson, turner, and zo were the starters. jaren jackson was the other double digit scorer of the starters along with zo and smitty.

It is really a shame that Turner wasn't able to stay longer. He was the "Michael Graham" for Zo that the real MG was for Pat. Sr. With better offense as I recall. As good as JT and our record was, there are so many coulda, woulda, shoulda's. The biggest of which are we could easily have won 3 National titles during Ewing's years instead of one. AH well.... it's more exciting to look forward to the NEXT one!

It is really a shame that Turner wasn't able to stay longer. He was in Fr. King's "The Problem of God" class with me. I think he was the only person in there more lost than I was. I believe that he used to wear his headphones during the class.

Naw. Turner was a thick guy who could have been an enforcer but he didn't have any of Graham's intimidation or explosiveness.
