Through five Big East games, some interesting numbers:
1. As a team, the Hoyas are shooting 54.9% from the field (first in the conference by a huge margin) and 38.8% from three (second). Huzzah for archaic offenses!
2. We're shooting only 65.8% from the line, though.
3. Opposing three-point shooters are hitting only 23.3% against the Georgetown defense.
4. Summers and Wallace are our two leading scorers, at 11.8 per game each.
5. Roy's not getting enough shots...but when he shoots, he's hitting at an astonishing 88.5% clip from the field, best in the conference by a country mile.
6. Our two mediocre (!) guards are also in the Top 15 in the league in field goal percentages, shooting 54.3% (Sapp) and 51.4% (Wallace) respectively.
7. Summers is our leading free throw shooter, hitting 82.4% from the line, good for 11th best in the conference.
8. Sapp is shooting 47.1% from three, 9th best in the league.

And just imagine if our mediocre and selfish stat-conscientious guards got Roy the ball more often and in better positions. I'm sure he'd shoot 97%.... no... at least 98% from the field. In all seriousness though, I think it's a little comforting to see these stats, knowing that our two biggest concerns coming into this year were outside shooting and how quickly our freshman could adapt to the offense and become contributors. JW and JS are doing a good job alleviating the first concern, and Summers (especially) and Macklin are doing a good job with regards to the second. Time to work on those free throws!

Time to work on those free throws! Free Throws and Turnovers... We have to do a better job of getting Roy that ball down low on the block. Even if he doesn't shoot, he attracts a whole lot of attention. Definitely opens up things for other folks. Very happy with the direction the team is going.

Roy shoots almost 3% better from the field with people on him than our leading freethrow shooter does from the line. That is amazing.

The stats are somewhat skewed due to the last two games, but still, very promising.
Where are we turnover and rebounding-wise?

The good news about how we are doing as of now, our gaurds are practically carrying the team. Once other teams realize that and play our gaurds more agressively, Jeff and Roy will have a great game. Coaches will see that and no matter who you try to stop, the other will step up. Looking good there Hoyas

4. Summers and Wallace are our two leading scorers, at 11.8 per game each. Someone should check the start-of-the-season prediction thread to see if anyone had these two over Jeff and Roy. Maybe someone picked Wallace, but Summers?

2. We're shooting only 65.8% from the line, though. Ouch!!! Need to work on FTs over the off-season! FT practice should be the #1 summer assingment.

Fortunately, we shot almost 80% on Friday, so hopefully those numbers are on the upswing
