I have become a fan of the Hoya version of the Princeton offense. It is a pretty offense to watch when all parts are clicking together. We have seen for the past 3 years the influence Pete Carril has had on JT3's coaching philosophy. What I have yet to see is the influence of JT2 on JT3's coaching philosophy. I am sure there has been a lot of off court influence, i.e., how to handle teenagers and help mold them into men, etc., but I have yet to see the hounding man-to-man defense and fast breaking influence that JT2 was famous for. Will we begin to see that influence next year with the addition of Wright and Freeman? I hope so.

I hope so too. But, you did see JTII's influence when JTIII immediately substituted players that turned over the ball. Oh, and the massive substitutionos too. One step at a time...

Last year I remembered lots of people saying the rotation was too tight; this year, supposedly it's too loose. I think that if the starters were more consistent, you wouldn't be seeing as many subs in there, as early. But I also think that experience is going to pay off -- it's already paying off with much improved play from Ewing.

We've also seen more pressure on defense this year. Not every game and not all the time. But you can't do that with a seven man rotation. This year we now have a firmly entrenched eight to nine man rotation -- the only issue with it is that Crawford is not a ballhandler and when Rivers struggles we have no real third ballhandler.

If Ewing can continue to have games like his last...we will be a force.

An ability to recruit and teach true centers, as well. sure, at this point, that's just Hibbs and the system may dictate a Macklin-type player at the 5 as we move forward with III's system but, so far, Hibbs continues the II tradition...not necessarily on-court style of play but it has Pops written all over it
