For the most part I agree with Highsmith's post, but with two changes.1) At Nova would not be a "bad loss." Their RPI/SOS is currently 29/12, and playing them at their place is not an easy task. Their mirror games this year are us, Cuse, and ND, not to mention they still have chances to pick up 2 OOC wins against Texas and St. Joe's, so they are one of the few teams I could see making the Dance as an at large with an 8-8 record in the BE if they can get there just because of their SOS.
2) UConn may not be a potential "good win" game down the line, despite the name recognition. With an RPI/SOS of 68/176 and 3 mirror games against Louisville, Rutgers, and Cuse, UConn will have a tough time getting into the top 50 RPI-wise unless they pull off some big OOC wins (Indiana and Ga. Tech are upcoming, and those would be pretty big for them and the conference). Tonight was not exactly a encouraging game for them either, as they gave that game away from the line and made a lot of mistakes characteristic of an inexperienced team that hasn't been tested at all yet.
I would agree- I hadn't looked up Villanova's status and didn't realize how potentially strong they could be. After watching much of UCONN's perfromance last night, I wanted to come back and edit my posting about them. I think they will get better by the end of the year, but I agree that they may not have the resume to help us at that point. That may be a very tough game for us, as if they do improve over the rest of the year, they may be very good at that point.......however, beating them may not be that big of a feather in our cap because of earlier struggles. Another example of how our schedule does very little to help us and does a lot to potentialy hurt us the rest of the way.
