even though this nickname sounds like Chris Berman made it, I like "DaJuan Summmers in Nantucket" It's not that gangsta though. Understatement of the year.

I dont get the Jeezy reference. One would assume you would have to have a prominent J in your name (with it being the first letter of your name preferably). Dajuan only has one J and it has no J sound at all, only the Spanish influenced W sound in the middle. It makes 0 sense to me. Also I could see it if he looked like Jeezy or if he was as ghetto as Jeezy (he is the snowman, get it) but neither seem to apply in this case.
Someone please explain.

and if Young Jeezy became Dajuan's nickname, would we have to pronounce it as young "wheezy" to reflect the spanish j?

As in so much else, the late 70's, early 80's Hoyas set the standard for nicknames. Big Sky, BayBay and Sleepy.

Seriously, 73. How cool of a nickname is "Sleepy"? Answer: very cool.

I would be in favor of nicknaming Octavius "Rufio" after that crazy mohawk he was rocking for a little while. I'm kind of sad he shaved it off.

i talked to dajuan a few days ago at the women's bball game and he said he would really like the fans to pick up on his hs nickname of young jeezy, but that it has really been a difficult transition because of fans like you all who dont "like" his name. i think we need to show dajuan a little more respect, as he is the future of georgetown basketball, and start calling him by his true name, dajuan young jeezy summers

Thanks! Where did that one come from? Don't remember, but sounds like something a mother would call her youngest son... In the spirit of nicknames, I talked to WBH the other day and he told me he wished the fans would pick up his nickname of "bouley-VARD" and stop referring to him as the HEAVY (probably due to his iron fist rule here).

Forget jeezy; one of the ESPN commentators called Dajuan "Mr. Smooth" tonight...
And on another funny note, after Jeff's alley oop one of them said "Green just made the Pirates feel blue"
