Basketball connection to the baseball dinner www.cstv.com/sports/m-basebl/stories/010507aae.htmlWashington, D.C. - Hoyas Unlimited and the Diamond Club, the Georgetown Baseball support club, has announced this year's speakers for the 3rd annual Diamond Club First Pitch Dinner. Hall of Fame catcher Johnny Bench will be this year's keynote speaker, and will be joined by San Diego Padres pitcher Chris Young. Chris Young played two years of basketball at Princeton when JTIII was an assistant. He was all-Ivy in both sports. Signed with the Pirates before his junior year, but stayed in school and graduated on time in 2002, so he was on campus but could not play basketball during JTIII's first two seasons as head coach. Unlike the rest of the NCAA, the Ivy League does not allow a pro in one sport to participate in other sports. Young is married to Liz Patrick who is a Georgetown law student or a recent grad. She is of the NHL Patricks - her dad is President of the Caps.

Her Dad's first cousin is Craig Patrick, former GM of the Penguins and assistant coach to the Herb Brooks' coached 1980 US Olympic team.
