...defense. I have no doubt we can put points on the board against this team. Both Roy and Jeff played well against this team last year and they lost Torin Francis. However, the question is whether we can prevent them from turning this game into a 3 point contest. Let these clowns try to beat us off the dribble. Of course that makes us suceptable to the "drive and dish", but I'm confident our guys will be pumped up enough to be aggressive, stay with their men (hopefully we won't see too much of that dreadful matchup zone that we haven't perfected yet) without getting into foul trouble.

D-D-D Defense! But also rebounding, minimizing turnovers, and working the three point defense specifically. As lic said, "mean mean mean" --- like those '85 Hoyas we saw tonight on MASN.

How come we never use this cheer? We-We-We...WE DO. A lot. (EDIT: Okay, once in a while...less than "HOYA SAXA" but more than "We Want Izzo")

Great game... the Hoyas came out with the type of defensive effort I was talking about here! We might have a tougher time playing defense like this against teams with guards that also drive to the basket (rather than just shoot the 3), but it obviously worked perfectly against Notre Dame. I envisioned us playing well, but obviously not winning by nearly 20! Late in the game, I realized that we has even stopped trying to score. I also realize that in the last 7 bowl games, other teams have done same thing against the Notre Dame football team. It felt nice to see our guys basically "take a knee" at the end of a Big East game against a ranked opponant!
