SOUTH BEND, Ind.(AP) Notre Dame starting guard Kyle McAlarney was arrested on a marijuana possession charge early Friday, police said. ... A state trooper reported finding marijuana in McAlarney's car during a traffic stop a few blocks from the Notre Dame campus about 1:30 a.m. Friday. McAlarney, 19, was taken to St. Joseph County Jail, where he was booked on the charge and later released on bond. He could not be located for comment. The arrest came hours after he scored 21 points on seven 3-pointers during a 101-51 win against Rider. McAlarney, a sophomore from Staten Island, N.Y., has started all 12 games this season for Notre Dame (11-1) and is averaging 10.3 points. stats.washingtontimes.com/cbk/story.asp?i=20061230011534350000101perfect timing.... My prediction: He'll be suspended for the Stony Brook game, but be allowed to play against the Hoyas next week. That's alright...... We'll STILL SMOKE 'EM....

If he is allowed to play, we have a perfect chant for when he is at the free throw line or dribbling the ball up:
POOOOTTTTT-HEAAAD, POOOOTTTT-HEAAAADD...
or.... Caught with ree-fer...clap, clap, clap clap clap.

I like all the suggestions so far. I have a slightly more grandiose plan in mind. I need the following things:
1. McAlarney's mug-shot 2. Access to a copier

he's suspended for today's game and they say that's all they're willing to say right now. sounds like they're tryign to think of a way to justify letting him play against us.

Here's the link to the AP article. Don't know much about how things work in Indiana but it sounds like McAlarney was released quickly on a personal bond, suggesting the kid probably just had a joint in his glovebox. I'm guessing he'll probably end up with community service and a fine, and I wouldn't be surprised if he plays against us. I would rather he did to prevent at least one Irish excuse.

I feel bad for the kid. It's not like none of the Hoya players (or people posting on the board, for that matter) ever had a joint. There's a certain amount of luck in getting caught. I want them to have their best players on the floor when we beat them.

Reminds me of the Gtown-ND game when the entire student section flashed our ID's whenever Troy Murphy took a foul shot. Seem to remember that taunting Troy Murphy didn't work out too well for us.

If I had to live in South Bend, I'd be pulling tubes as often as I could.

i'm sure you're right mapei but i don't think you can just assume that some one on our team has smoked weed like that. And personally i'd rather have every advantage possible when facing a team. Any win isn't going to be tainted because they're missing a player. There are no asterisk's placed on wins. a wins a win and i'd rather an easier win when i can get it.

No Georgetown player in the 100 year history of the program has ever touched a joint. They don't even know what this "mar-ju-wanna" you speak of looks like. For that matter, not one of them has ever done ANYTHING wrong. Ever. EDITED I believe that is a matter of public record.

EDITED I believe that is a matter of public record. It inspired the Sweetney rant.
