The Daily Bruin is reporting that UCLA is expected to also sign a second Cameroonian player. It is possible that this may have been an important factor to Aboya. Just speculating.

Actually, Aboya is the second Cameroonian player. Luc Mbaha Moute committed a week or so ago and this definitely could have been a factor in Aboya's decision.

PSA Cameron Lewis who paid an unofficial visit in early September ....... any chance that he's serious about Penn or Columbia being his final two choices?
He's not signing formally with either this fall. I'm wondering if the Hoyas might revive the embers there.

Listen...to be complaining about not getting recruits is absolutely insane. Please stop complaining and praise the man for getting into the conversation. The staff was put together WAY behind schedule. It took too long to close the deal on JTIII and we just couldn't be expected to get any kids.
It takes more than a couple of months to repair the years and years of damage that occured under the watch of Esherick. Myself and some friends spoke with JTIII at a HHC event and the fire was there, but you could also see the frustration of having to play catch-up.
You need to be on these kids as freshmen and sophmores in this day and age. Simple as that.
Give the man a couple of years to put together a team.

You need to be on these kids as freshmen and sophmores in this day and age. Simple as that. Give the man a couple of years to put together a team. Not only that, but our class is actually a pretty good one. It's signing week and we should be looking at how good our recruiting class is considering III had months instead of years to work on it. We got Josh Thornton, an exceptional student and an exceptional shooter -- maybe the best in the entire 2005 class. People have focused on big men, but shooter was our biggest need. We could have our Gerry McNamara or JJ Redick here. We got Octavious Spann, who besides having a cool name, was once ranked in the Top 50. He's 6'8" and super-athletic. We went from having a singularly unathletic team in '03 to a team that could put Jeff Green, Brandon Bowman, Octavious Spann, DJ Owens, and Tyler Crawford on the floor. That's a level of athleticism that would've killed us last year. And that's not even mentioning... Marc Egerson who is a flyer. Did you folks see that dunk? The guy is already rock solid and flies. Again, like Spann, Green, Cornelio and others, Egerson is the type of guy who flew under the radar, but you hear whispers -- "could be Top 50" -- "Sam Young with perimeter skills" -- "better player than D'Andre Bell." We had some good players in the Esherick years, but not a lot of super-athletic types. Taking his last class and III's first class, we've added four players who are fantastic athletes. Along with adding some size in the middle and a shooter.

I agree...it's a miracle what JTIII has accomplished in months. This is stage one in recruiting...you need the buzz. JTIII is getting that buzz right now.
Give him another year to start really capitalizing on momentum.
Any of these guys would have been complete icing on the cake. In fact, from what I'm hearing about this Goodridge kid he could be much more trouble than he's worth.
Keep the faith and support JTIII for a huge class in the next two years.
Also, don't underestimate the need to purge the roster of the "Esherick" kids. Don't be shocked if you see more transfers in the next year or two. It happens all the time in college hoops when a new coach comes in with a different style.
